| dissagree EA.
they have $700,000 of players this year they shouldnt have.
why should other teams who arent cheating have to compete with that.
cameron smith misses the 07 grand final and they get belted by manly
they created this problem

| will the players have to take a pay cut, or will a number of players get released?whats happened has happened, but if they play this week with a full sqad, and win , will the opposition have a case to claim the 2 points? as they are playing players who are earning more than the allowances

| I can understand that point of view too, DM.
It really is a mess.
But honestly, it will not do the NRL any good for the Storm's crowd average to drop from, what, an excellent figure of not much under 20,000 so far this year to 3,000.

| It's throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
If it were a team not struggling on foreign soil, I'd agree. the Dogs got what they deserved but the game as a whole didn't suffer all that much.
It will now.
Waldron need to be publicly castrated but I hope the Rebels keep him, the bloke stinks to high hell, his name is and should be mud forever. If the Rebels keep him, they'll be a stuffed as the Storm...

| Funny how Demetriou was quick to say the AFL would bring in similar measures in a similar event...
Of course history shows they don't have the cojones.
Enter Pratt and Carlton for an example of a no point deduction.

they probably will lose 1 star but its possible to keep the big names by restucturing deals and losing fringe players
canberra lost glen lazarus
the dogs lost a stack of players from roy asotasi to steve price, braith anasta
we need an attacking centre, so well take inglis

I worked for Richard Pratt when I was a kid, at Visyboard Warwick Farm.
I don't normally speak ill of the dead but he will forever be the only exception.
The day he croaked was a good day.

I disagree, he isn't moving to assist the game in any way, shape or form and [ithat [/iis his job. Making the Storm play for no points for the rest of the season is ludicrous and could have been easily sorted in a way that kept the fans reasonably happy. the fans are the most important thing and always will be.
He is doing what News have told him to do.
He should go immediately.

| How desperate were the Storm for success? I feel sorry for the fans who have pretty much no reason to turn up and watch the Storm this season and maybe a few will not bother coming back all together.
Another bad day for Rugby league and plenty of ammo for union trolls and journalists now because this i must say is much worse than bloodgate.
At least tough action has been taken, maybe if the cap was to go up there would be less reason to cheat it.

| Seems harsh - why does this keep happening in the NRL?
If I were the Storm I would simply pull out of the league for a year - recharge their batteries and come back next year - no point playing and training for nothing?
The problem is this will harm the Storm possibly into collapse - but on the flip side it might give some of the Sydney sides a chance
You might be able to take the trophies off the club but you will never be able to take the memories of their fans and those of their opponents in the various GFs
