| Embarrassing, blinking embarrassing. There is still a Crusaders team playing in the Eastern half of Wales and the Broncos are still going in London. But Toronto and the Paris RL club, why can't people be thorough and realistic? Handing out free tickets just before the PSG v Sheffield opening match in 1996, ffs!!!!!

You have a great point, for some reason the powers that be let anyone in to do anything, somehow in the name of expanding and developing the game. It's just become so ridiculous now that the next TV deal needs to make everyone come down to planet earth, present a united front, and stabilise the game ensuring places like Wales, London and Newcastle who are logical targets for expansion and development that will benefit the game are accommodated and encouraged, not allow it to become a laughing stock and a circus....

Hang on. 6 months ago you were claiming that the “powers that be” wanted nothing to do with the Toronto club. Which one is it lmao

| Quote: Donnyman "Toronto Arrows RUFC have:-
29 Home grown Canadian players
A TV deal with TSN
Exactly what the game here asked from Toronto Wolfpack and was promised by Perez, home grown players
The Toronto Arrows are A newly formed team. They played exhibition games only in 2018 under the name Ontario Arrows, then bought their way into the MLR (Major League Rugby) in 2019 by actually buying part ownership of the league itself to get in. They played their inaugural season in MLR by renting two grounds, a college ground and yes you guessed it, Lamport Stadium. The deal with TSN cost them money (and by the way TSN also showed TWP games prior to the one man ego show and then going into SL).
They have some new backers with money (sound familiar) who have bought their way into a league by buying part of the league. This one year old team, with no home, playing out of two rented grounds in a league they partially bought, is your example of a success story and an example of how big rugby union is in Canada.

Not even Donny can put a negative on the Toronto attendances.
The marketing and promotion of a new club in "alien" territory is something that ALL of the UK clubs and the RFL could do to learn from.
Add to the fact that these were all new fans of the sport, it's difficult to imagine any UK club being this successful at putting bums on seats.

Once again: Agreed. The business house and marketing are second only to the Bulls at the beginning. of Super league.
Sshhhh that will get a response. !

The Midlands is the place where the RFL and clubs should push expansion, ETP and getting another couple of semi pro clubs. It can be done, IF there is the will. Problem is, the 'expansionists' and anti expansionists, would say, 'The Midlands, why, dod't be daft'. In fact Donny Osmand said just last week, ...like some country bumpkin, 'Ugh ugh, Mansfield???'
BUT that is where the expansion would work best in the UK IF there was the will and understanding.
I must confess I have an interest, but I am correct.

You don't seem to be able to take anything in, especially all the returning fans from the Lamport who cast doubts on the TWP paying crowds three ways....
1. Physically there never seemed to be as many reported actually in the stadia.
2. Money wise many never paid, free tickets and a free gate left open during the match.
3. None of them came over here to swell the crowds.
But again what you mainly can't take in is:-
4. Perez was clear to Dave Woods that TWP would bring us NATV deals and Pro-NA players. Nothing about crowds at all.
5. No TV deals and no players.
6. Your maybe trolling, but it at least gives me chance to remind people of the truth.

See above crowds aren't the criteria for a growing game. It's a growing pro-player pool and in time more TV money. Perez didn't promise big crowds. TWP lied about them to try to have some sort of excuse for their failure.
We can't look at crowds although as Argylle walked away there's no longer any TWP crowds. There nothing of substance. Pains me to say it but MLR has plenty of substance....
