TBF though it's only through a desperate marketing strategy that Bradford are having great crowds again, most clubs would have five figures if they offered entry at a fiver a game (which is what it probably works out at at £60 a pass). Fair play to them though, as said it's probably led to fresh merchandise sales, sponsorship deals etc.

Agree with the Hull fan about pricing, IMO £20 is a touch steep considering how skint the country is at the moment.

Re Cas, was it on Sky though?

We're coming to make some noise!:

Most games at this time of the year require floodlights to be turned on, at Craven Park they turn them off at half time they cost that much to run.

£20 when the club not only have those 17 players to pay but the rest of the squad, coaching team, back office staff, medical staff and private hospital bills for when players need operations...etc, then there is the bills and everything else. So I don't think £20 is that expensive to go and support your team, if they reduced it to around £12 like it used to be we'd be back in the National League (Championship) attracting around a quarter of the fans we get now!

Hmm, but at £12 would we have more support e.g. five-figure gates every game? eusa_think.gif What you're saying makes total sense mate, just meant it's a tough balancing act - our gates kinda stalled after getting to 8000 in 2008, so is it because people are put off paying the price to get in, or maybe the East Stand extension and new stand will encourage more fans. Frustrating to think there's probably still another few thousand Rovers fans in Hull who don't attend yet.

The Stade game was at 2pm, followed by the French RU v Italy, with the RL kicking off after both had finished. The rain may have beenmore of a factor.

Carlos Zalduendo was inteviewed in La Dépêche today and said that it would be quite difficult for Toulouse to go up to SL in 2012 as the stadium renovations will take 3 years and they don't meet the 12k capacity criteria. He also said that being in the championship has all the disadvantages of travel costs & time but none of the advantages of a tv deal - but it was the only way forward to get a second French club in SL. Sounds like they're planning to be in championship next year.

Sorry Matt , that would be like us saying we cannot play at home if , Man Utd , Man City , Liverpool , Everton , Bolton , W Athletic , Warrington , or the pies are playing same day as us

Some preparation for SL , with poor crowds they'll fit in quite well icon_wink.gif

Carlos isn't worried about SL for the moment, far from it...

I think the weather had more of an affect than anything else plus of course Stade TO is massive down here and will always take the RL crowds in the RU season and of course the financial crunch is as bad here as it is in the uk and tickets for TO & Catalans are not cheap.

but as you say, poor crowds ? yes, they will fit in very well it seems icon_smile.gif
