| The whole sport just needs to do more. The days of having a "Next game is Vs St Helens" poster on the wall near the ground as your advertising for the week are long gone. They are so many distractions at home and at other entertainment venues that league really does have to do more to get people interested. I'm not just referring to one off initiatives either, those are good starts but they need to be followed up.
The level of community involvement from SL sides is terrible. I live in Warrington and their on field success is their only advertising tool. Nothing has ever come through my door about the Wolfs and I've never seen them in town drumming up new supporters either. They've also never bothered to visit the school my son goes to, but Sale Sharks RU and Blackburn Rovers FC have. Locally and nationally it just needs to be ramped up. Richard Lewis needs to start being more proactive when it comes to sports coverage, handing content to newpapers, online sites and news stations. All of those outlets have massive audiences and given their willingness to cut costs, pre delivered and interesting content would be lapped up.

Quins will do well to break 4,000 this year apart from the "double header".
5,000.....don't make me laugh. In 59 games at the stoop since Quins RL were born there have been 6 x 5k+ gates at home. 6 games in nearly 5 years. These include the first game v Saints and 3 matches that Wigan discounted travel down to London........and no gate over 5k at the stoop in 2009......so not really moving in the right direction aren't they with a current average of 2,770...
queue loads of anti gutterfax posts...........for pointing out the in9 obvious

| Catalans crowd is frankly amazing given how little hope they have on the field.

also isn't it true that they have few season ticket holders? as the French don't really take to the concept? or have they grown their season ticket numbers as the years have gone on?

I thought that last season they had over 7000 "members" which I assumed were season ticket holders?

| sheffield at around 2500, and fax at 2800 are very promising crowds
if a lower league club can average 3000, then i think they can put in a very realistic SL bid.
fax could well be a dark horse for SL next time

could well be.
Both Quins and Salford have one thing going for them though...they are already in SL. Widnes should be a shoe in next time around and as the clubs have already agreed no increase, Fax would be better off pitching for 4 years time.

| sl average crowd up around 450 from last year so thats very promising especially with 14 teams vs 12, so total attendances would be up a lot
with st helens to get a new ground and widnes to come into SL, a 10,000 average could well be achieved.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

If Salford, Wakefield and cas could get there's sorted and hkr get the improvements done it would be a very realistic target.

| Alot is going to change in the next 5 years or so. Catalans will have had their redevelopment, hopefully KR will have too. Saints, Castleford and hopefully wakefield and salford will have new grounds too. With these along with Widnes probaly coming into the competition it's exciting times for RL and i think by the 2015 we will have 12,000 average!

| the rhinos also should be aiming to grow crowds over 20,000
for a city the size of leeds their crowds are poor, compared to what the hull clubs achieve (combined)

Not a chance at Headingley. The place is a dump. Does it even hold 20k now that they've had to shut down most of the South Stand for not being safe?
