pitiful warrington, pitiful
The dummy was neither here nor there. The hole was gaping and he would have gone through with or without the dummy.

True. Philbin I think has had a good game but looked like he was wearing wellies on that play.

The meaning of the game has nothing to do with it.

And you could argue last weeks had more meaning as it will be a bigger advert for RL and Warrington than this game in France. But shows how hard the games where last week. This week is a bit like after theCC final performances.

| Todd Carney did not play in the first two rounds.
Scott Dureau did not play in the opening round against St Helens.
Finally they are both together.
Todd Carney and Scott Dureau will only improve as a halves pairing as the season evolves.
They are destined to be the greatest halves pairing Super League has seen in a decade or more.

| In a way it shows what we need to do to match the NRL. Every game is at least as tough as that game last week which means you can't afford to drop the intensity.

Ok for that alone you are now going on ignore. Total OTT.
Not funny and not clever. You are no longer worth reading. Enjoy posting to less and less people with your crazy comments.

You are probably right but there isn't really another stand out one in SL these days.
watching all the top 3 SL sides from last week, as a Leeds fan i honestly wouldn't swap our pair for what was on show, and Sinfield and Mcguire have obviously seen far better days and are no better than solid as they play out the last bit of their careers. I do appreciate Walsh was missing for Saints who is a very good player.
Catalans have always been a good side at home and have had wins like this against the top teams down the years.I need to see them getting points on the road regularly yet to convince me they can make the top 4.

| It was a good win for Catalans and a decent performance but I think most teams in the league would've beaten that Wire team today so hard to judge it properly.

Not meant to be funny or clever. It was meant to be prescient. Just going on what I have seen in both Super League and the NRL over the past decade.
Scott Dureau was in the SL Dream Team of 2012. Then he was afflicted by a brain tumour and a subsequent injury, and struggled to get fit. Now he appears to be fit.
Todd Carney was NRL's Dally M player of 2010. He has struggled with off field, alcohol related, indiscretions in Australia. Hopefully in the south of France he can put all of that behind him.
If those two can stay together they will be miles ahead of their positional opponents in other SL teams. It is just a matter of gelling together and with the rest of the team.
Robert Burrow and Daniel McGuire were once a great running halves combination for Leeds, but they never had the field kicking skills, nor the creative passing skills that Dureau and Carney possess.
Kevin Sinfield was and is a good field kicker but not a great runner of the ball. His participation in pairings with either running halves McGuire or Burrow have not been overwhelming.
I can't think of a class halves [ipairing[/i that has been really great in SL in the past 10 years. Nor can you.

| ignoring Capdouze's totally hyperbolic comments,
I thought Todd was excellent for a first game back. His kicking game was superb and he brought out the best in Scott too. They should go great together if both can stay fit.
The decision to go for two was clearly justified, we were struggling for momentum at the time and pushing the scoreline away from Wire seemed to turn it around.
Wire were clearly showing some hangover from last week so I won't be too carried away, and we are still far from polished, but there is clear cause for optimism.

| Martyn and Long
The Paul bros
Sculthorpe and Long
McGuire and Burrow
Tomkins and Deacon
Barrett and Leuluai
I'd take all of those over the Catalans pairing.

Hell I'd even add Cooke and Horne to that list, and Pryce and Long.
