You have vented your frustration about the World Cup being on Premier Sports. I've replied saying if you have PS, why are you complaining about the tournament being on the channel. At the beginning of the post, I did say that you were complaining about PS. Maybe I should have worded my first response to match my last response (advising you were complaining about the WC being on PS). But at the end of the day, you are obviously unhappy about the WC being on PS. My question is if you already subscribe to PS, then why?

So is this why you had your self imposed 13 month hiatus? Some people annoy the hell out of me on here, but I'm not going to refuse to come on here just because someone disagrees with my opinion. William did before, but it's okay, I know what his agenda is anyway.
Oh, and just to advise.......you need an ego to have an ego boost.

| Quote: William Eve "But Premier Sports isn't in HD or 3D.
You must really hate the game if you believe the modern day fan of Super League will put up with standard definition. '"
What utter bollox. So people who pay good money out of their hard-earned to receive the Premier RL coverage, do so because they "won't put up" with it, and because they "really hate the game"!
Or they will put up with it for some games, but not others?
And every SL fan with Sky has an HD subscription, do they? Have you done a survey?
A classic even by your standards!
Also, there would be nothing that I know of that would prevent Premier upgrading their coverage to HD, if they could make a commercial case for it. As Sky show the game in HD, I kind of assume that there is one.

I'm really looking forward to it because PS have pulled out the stops to make their presentation authentic and worthy. (Good luck doing that for the average RL that demands utter perfection 100% of the f*****g time).
So to all those who are complaining, tough s**t. If you don't have PS, tough s**t. Either subscribe to it, or quit whining.'"

Quote: Leaguefan "It is believed Sky was in the market for the Six Nations rights, which is likely to have raised the annual sum the BBC bid for the 15-game annual competition. The rights package covers television, radio, online and interactive.'"
If SKY were up for it, I believe it's a free for all......and at £2,666,666 a game, they may have paid a tad too much
I am not a fan of the Premier TV deal but it is what it is...and that is probably the best way to have Live top level RL available to a wider audience than the game has had access too for a long long time. Trick is now is to convert these curious eyeballs into curious attendees at RL games in the 2014 season.
As for the long term, BT will probably got the way other pretenders to the SKY throne have gone and as big as the Union deal is at present, sticking with SKY is probably best for League in the UK for now.

| The game definately needs a competitor to SKY to come along. Sky have a monopoly on interest for the game at the moment and know they can pay a smaller amount. Ideally someone like premier sports and a FTA provider would band together to outbid Sky. 2 games on FTA with premier sports getting those two games plus 2 others would be ideal. Only way I can see it happening is if the RFL took production in house and sold the coverage but as the game struggles to organise itself it is unlikely it will be able to manouver such a deal.

The finances for this would only really stack up if they could sell the footage to a significant number of countries, which simply isn't going to happen. It's only major tournaments like Olympics and FIFA World Cup where this model actually works because of a) limited number of venues to be covered, b) limited time frame of tournament and c) enough countries around the world willing to pay significant ££££ to secure the rights on an exclusive basis (which they then recoup through advertising, except in the UK where we pay for it when it goes to the BBC!).
I actually think the current model is the best we could get, if the BBC would put their highlights programme on nationally at a decent time!

| Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "I think some people are being very disrespectful to the fledgling Premier Sports. They were given the chance with the Championship, and what a good show they have made out of it. Plus they have made the contacts with the NRL, which comp, if not for Premier, it is highly unlikely we would be able to watch.
If Premier continue to work to the standards they have set then they can only grow, and more power to their elbow.'"
Hardly fledgling they use to be known as Setanta Sports

| BBC NE & Cumbria news have just done a feature on the FIJI team who are currently staying in N Yorks. One slight criticism is they didn't mention when, where or who they will be playing.

Apart from the England games and the semi finals onwards, who apart from those on this forum give a b0llox anyway??? Nobody.

To get new fans interested, you need them to understand that what they are watching ' matters ' unfortunatley they have just lost 5 such matches with demise of the NL Cup

No idea if there's any truth to it, and if there is It's not certain whether it's for everyone on virgin or XL packages etc, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
