That is demonstrably untrue; and suggests a serf-like mentality that doesn't become anyone with an ounce of self-respect or dignity.
There are high profile examples on a weekly basis of massively paid individuals who head up organisations that either spectacularly fail, engage in criminal activity and rip off shareholders, pensioners, their employees or their customers - or a combination of all of them - and walk away not only free of sanctions, but with a tasty golden goodbye to boot; just look at the financial crisis that happened a few short years ago - very few casualties, no arrests and they are back to paying out the same level of rewards and bonuses, despite being bailed out by taxpayers money.
The system is rigged - and just how Big Nige came to be a beneficiary of it is a strange mystery that I cannot understand or explain.

Are you going to post the same thing in differing guises on the hour every hour until you get a response.
The best will get the best if they want it and they are willing to pay for it, end of. Call it what you want, and yes they may come in your mouth but its a fact of modern life.
The RFL got a fat useless swine and paid over the top. The RFL aren't the best hence why they employed a useless tool and have paid for it in may ways both directly and indirectly.

Maybe not quite the difference you may have expected given where both sports sit.
In previous roles one was the book keeper at Halifax RL, the other a successful CEO earning a huge salary and producing significant results and profit.

Especially when you consider The FA makes more than 1300% more revenue than The RFL.

The fact that the SL chairmen have recently taken control of most decision making - an action that itself has attracted much criticism from clubs outside SL - shows that they do care. An arrangement put in place years before isn't one the new regime can stop, unfortunately.

| The RFL set their own KPIs, so meeting certain targets are controllable by the very people who are being paid bonuses etc to meet/exceed those KPIs, nice little in house job that.
The RFL set their own pay rises even if that contradicts the recommended pay rises by the auditors which they've done for at least the last three years.
Woods and the rest of the cronies at Red Hall are a fecking disgrace to the sport and have been feathering their nests/stealing a wage at the top for far too long whilst sacking off or not employing people vital to the improvement, expansion and future success of the sport.
a £500k pay-off, I hope he chokes on it, he must be laughing his flabby tits off at how easy it's been for him to rape the sport

How is that relevant to the argument? He's stolen a wage, not progressed the game forward in reality in 10 years, not met the RFL own set targets in crucial areas, set their own above recommended pay rises flying in the face of the independent auditors and now despite resigning is rewarded with £1/2M pay-off, can you not see how disgustingly brazen that is and how angering it is to fans and chairmen of all clubs that the very organisation that is supposed to be supporting clubs through promoting and furthering the game are giving out significant amounts of money to an average joe when they can't even afford to employ people in areas that are desperately required.
The amount of money agreed to all done by Woods and his pals who are also raking it in.
The likes of NW wouldn't turn it down because he has no moral compass, no qualms or feels any guilt for the micturate poor job he's done nor the financial raping of the sport.
In businesses everywhere top dogs have been taking cuts as pointed out earlier in the thread but instead of that those in the RFL not only took yet more increases but higher than recommended pay increases.
Yes fans are complaining, that you can't see why is baffling, or is that you have another agenda like Wire-Quin?

Even for a poster with a history of deliberate contrarianism, that's probably one of the most pointless and stupid remarks you've ever made.

Where does morality come into this. If you have a contract no matter how good or bad you perform and both sides agree a sizeable separation where does morality come into it? Maybe they offered him a million and he said no i've done a poor job I will just take half, who know. Good luck to the useless fat get. The failing sits fairly and squarely at the hands of the RFL

Can't argue though the half a mil is money well spent far as I'm concerned. He could still be in post otherwise.

| First of all, yes it does seem a bit of a p!ss take that he's been given such a generous severance package, and even more so that he's now Contracting in - which will no doubt be at an even more inflated price than his original salary.
However, as much as anyone dislikes it, if that's the deal that he's managed to cook up with the RFL, then good on him, and more fool the RFL (probably the best deal he's ever negotiated during his time with the RFL). Nobody in their right mind in Big Nige's position would turn the money down - why on earth would you? It's business and his livelihood, he's not gonna turn down half a mil. Ridiculous to think it for a second.
That being said, there should be serious questions asked of those involved in these deals at the RFL. That severance package and him contracting back in seems obscene, and shady at best. In the words of Geoff Toovey 'There needs to be an investigation'!
