True, but it certainly isn't going to be the most memorable one.

Probably not, but there have been some very good ones the last 20 years. imo it was better than the CC final, obviously Hull fans will disagree

| Congratulations to Wigan and Shaun Wane.
To have that group of players perform so well against "better" opposition was a phenomenal effort.
Wigan were making better yards for the full 80 minutes and credit must go to their forwards, whose dominance won the game for the Pies.
Lineham had played well for the most part of the game and he seemed to be targeted with plenty of high balls and eventually he knocked on forward, allowing Wigan a crucial score.
But, with only 3 tries, it was a game for defence and Wigan were just that little bit better.

| Looking at the deciding try it comes down to just poor play from Atkins. Warrington had 4 defenders against the 3 Wigan attackers of Sarginson, Gelling and Charnley and would've been very hard for them to score if the Warrington line stays solid.
Atkins decides to shoot out to close down Sarginson which he didn't need to do and that forces Russell to come in to Gelling which leaves Charnley in acres of space for Sarginson to slide the kick in after Atkins decided to stop when he got close to Sarginson.

Think it was Phil Gould that said "Atkins is a great tackler, but he is a terrible defender" (or words to that effect)

Atkins is a strong lad, but hardly the best technically. His attempt to bludgeon over with a man outside him was poor, but then again, the much lauded Gidley tried the same thing at the death, when a long pass may have seen the winger cruise in.

Wigan could have easily won their Challenge Cup semi final v fc.
Disallowed try for a forward pass that was borderline, and a Manfredi dropped ball unopposed that he catches with ease 99% of the time.

Neither did I, may not have been the most skillful game as far as attack but the defense was great and the game was in the balance till the end. As a neutral I enjoyed it.

Could've but didn't. The forward pass wasn't borderline it was clear forward, manfredI dropping the ball is totally different to a player throwing a pass out hoping it lands favourably, manfredis' was just poor play

Both semi finals could have gone either way but ultimately the better side won them both.
I had to laugh at a Hull fan in the stadium last night telling me how Hull deserved to be in the final with Wire. Maybe we could do away with semi's in the future and vote teams in X Factor style. Once he'd told me Bateman was the only Wigan player he'd take at Hull I knew our conversation had run its course.

I think he has a point. There have been quite a few close games that have gone down to the wire and been won on the bounce of a ball. That sort of competitiveness is good for the game and great for the neutral.

We've had quality, unpredictability, drama and a "new" contender (albeit they had to make do with the Challenge Cup).
With the dramatic fall from grace of Leeds and a mis-firing Huddersfield, it could be argued that this was the most exciting season in the summer era.
Widnes stunning start to the season, Wakefield beating everyone (well, for 8or 9 weeks) and Cas playing some superb stuff, with half a team.
Add to that the incredible MPG and what more do you actually want ?
It's been an excellent season, unless you are from Leeds or KR
