Maybe it was poor positioning of fans in respect to the TV cameras...as I find it hard to believe that Todays crowd surpassed any of the last four finals.
and to suggest it was just 5 thousand short of the 2010 final is again a stretch of the imagination...
there were some huge gaps in the upper tiers...... |

Imagine what the situation will be like in 2018, when the extravagantly wealthy NRL -- probably expanded by two teams -- has sucked all of the Antipodean import talent and the English talent out of Super League. The standard of play will be like Leigh vs Bradford offer today. Nobody will bother watching. I cannot see the RFL tempting the BBC into signing another contract for the Challenge Cup beyond the current contract. The talent in Super League is just too thin and it is certain to get much worse. |

I'm not sure what records were broken with the "80000"? I recall the days when that was a poor crowd at the old Wembley. Has it been rounded?
I saw Lizzie Jones' "Abide with Me" late last night on the internet. She was amazing and I hope the final will be remembered for her and her late husband.

I have one more gripe - the statue. RL fans should hang their heads in shame that Neil Fox was not voted as one of those honoured. What more does a man need to do and at Wembley too? Disgraceful in my opinion.
