Terrific Toulouse have comfortably beaten bumbling Batley 42-26, despite Toulouse relaxing in the second half. (Toulouse led 34-6 at half time).

Note that Toulouse were handicapped without several first choice players, including winger Paul Marcon, prop Samuel Rapira, second rower Sebastien Planas, and lock forward Andrew Bentley.

Next Saturday afternoon, terrific Toulouse will play lowly Leigh at Albi.

And treacherous Toulouse will have it all to do against Lightening Leigh.

The Leyther gang finds it so difficult to stomach the success of the French expansion teams. A very few years from now they will be denigrating the performances of colossal Catalans and terrific Toulouse in Super League, and of admirable Avignon in the Championship against struggling lowly Leigh. Owner Derek Beaumont will not be waiting around that long. He will soon cut bait and row back to shore.

It's so easy to say what's going to happen. Catalans have done pretty well in SL, but they haven't exactly swept the board in terms of silverware. Toulouse are a very decent Championship side but no more. Toronto will top the Championship this season, but are finding out that the game starts to get tougher as you climb the ladder.

Well done to all three teams, in their own way they've done good so far.

To predict major future success on a forum is sort of Ok, but a little humility and acceptance that success isn't guaranteed wouldn't go amiss though. By predicting success, you're enabling a position where you can blame situations (injured players, bad ref calls etc.) for not achieving that success. Or, you can just disappear into the ether if it all goes horribly wrong.

Fax played a cracking game out with Leigh earlier today. We lost the game, but it was a minor triumph for the game overall because there's not a single soul in the ground that would have left thinking that RL was a boring or drab game (unlike a lot of SL matches that I've watched recently).

Just remember that without Huddersfield, Salford, HKR, Widnes, Leigh, Fev and Fax, there would be no current realistic competition for Toronto, Toulouse and Catalans to play in.
