Of course over their thirty two years existence they've been an overwhelming success. No doubt they're thinking of renting Twickenham for their remaining home games.
If RL ran a "spot the crowd" comp London could be featured every week. They're a laughing stock throughout sport. They're in the capital with a huge population to draw on and the best they can do is about 1500 home supporters. What a huge boost the games status they are. Get rid is what I say.

But then the gap between the bottom and top of SL would increase.

We have a pretty good SL with them in.

really? it may have escaped your attention whilst you have been looking for reasons for negative so your club doesnt look so bad in comparison, but more people watch SL either at the games or on TV, than ever before.

I agree but I also think Wakey & Hull KR should stay up leaving a 10 team top League and (my Championship knowledge isn't great) a decent ten team semi-pro league?

Yes, as a business they are a complete joke
They manage to operate as a charity reasonably well, unfortunatley I dont think we'll have Bob organising concerts or swearing at people on TV to support them when the current ' well ' dries up

| Quote: Cronus "Narrow your search a little. It basically looks like P/R is recognised as an issue requiring further discussion, and a review into current RFL policies (including P/R) is forthcoming.
They also confirm that any decision regarding P/R can only be reached following the agreement of the RFL and club shareholders and the approval of a majority of Super League clubs and the RFL.
So it's up for review, as are a lot of things. Interesting document.

Yeah but in some cases not enough people pay enough for it. Three clubs have gone bust while holding SL licenses. Halifax aren't Super League standard - I don't need an armchair Rhino fan to tell me that.

| Quote: littlerich "Hopefully, Bradford will survive the daft franchise experiment.'"
Bradford is a red herring. Pay particular attention to two statements they made when the crisis first surfaced 1) "We need £1m from the fans to survive this year" 2) "A number of immediate issues mean we need it now, including a £1m tax bill falling due, for VAT and PAYE". It was not "the daft franchise experiment" that made the club's previous management collect tax from its fans (VAT) and employees (PAYE) then pocket the money as its own.

| As HIM said, the solution is not to reduce the number of clubs in Superleague, it is to improve the grassroots identification, nurturing and development of talent. More money should be thrown at the youth and amateur game to assist this. Reducing the number of teams in the elite competition is a rank admission, not just of failure but also blindness to any solution.

Added to which: Supposed problem:" There's not enough talent." Proposed solution: "Reduce the number of academies and development pathways producing professional talent by two. That should sort it" = pure bat loonytunes bonkersness, even by RL fans' standards.
