Agreed. the obsession with slapping on a (or many) cross of St George every time they design a new one is rather naff. i think it possibly suits the away shirt, but the home shirt would be a winner without the read cross in a 'badly painted' style on the front.

The England jersey should either be plain white, white with a red chevron or white with a sigle red hoop.

The latter two would look like a Saints or Rovers shirt.

I think if it was maybe a red and grey chevron, we'd at least get away from the "looking like another RL club" problem. Union has a grey trim at the moment and it seems to look OK.

Exactly. People don't stop buying the England shirt just because it looks like a Leeds shirt, so why should the England RL shirt be any different?

Because the same sort of people don't like rugby league played outside the heartlands.
