| That's three occasions were we've been involved in a relegation shoot out and it still hasn't got any better feeling the next data day, of all the seasons to have clubs suitable to retain a place and grow the league again and it's dismissed, only shows there's still not the finances there to support it.

| The RFL have finally got a competition where all its teams in Super League were competitive.
So bite the bullet and expand the league to 13 next year and 14 eventually.
London have added so much to the game this year and have become many people's 2nd team.
Relegation will undo so much work.
Come on RFL......wake up.

I tend to agree with you mate.
"We" should have gone to 14 clubs at the last shake up and done away with the "loop" fixtures.
We keep hearing how its so important to have London in the comp and they have been very good value for their place this season and Toronto, much as I still dont believe they should be in "our" comp, have to be in the top flight, if only to actually prove that there is any sense in having a pan-Atlantic comp and if The RFL cant sell this to Sky, it's time that someone else took the reigns
Having said that, while ever there is relegation (and promotion) there will always be winners and losers.
In may respects it would have been better if London (or someone else) had been tailed off last, rather than the dog fight that we have all witnessed but, relegation hurts and can often really damage the club that goes down.
London have gained the utmost respect for their efforts this season and nobody wanted them to drop but, in the words of Esther Rantzen, "That's Life".

| Gutted for London. Best promoted side and best side relegated since the beginning of SL. Hope they get back in the top flight for 2021.

What, better than the Tigers and KR sides that came up and stayed up ?
We can say very good and that they were a touch unlucky but, if they were the best promoted side, since the beginning of SL, they would have stayed in SL.

| Both Tigers and HKR promoted sides were pretty decent but if you put into comparison where London have come from - a massively lower budget and turnover than those two clubs and the contribution of failings clubs like Bulls and Widnes that contributed to both Tigers and HKR surviving the year they got back in. They have basically gone into SL with a championship team. To get 10 wins has been nothing but a miracle for London IMO.

47035_1386433761.gif We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_47035.gif |

| I agree we should be expanding to 14. However, that only brings a temporary reprieve from promotion and relegation as the following seasons we will still have a team going down and one coming up.
I know people say relegation hurts the team going down, but no promotion hurts all teams coming up. Why would Toronto, toulouse, Bradford, York invest in their sides to just stay where they are.
Since p&r has come back under either formula the standard of the next league has improved.
The difficulty with getting a super league with 12+ teams is self interest from incumbent teams not wanting to share TV finance.
Short term financal gain over riding longer term strategy and a potential longer term improvement in finance.

A club whose fans were all over this site in recent years demanding to be taken serious as an 'established top five club' getting all giddy at beating the mighty London to dodge the drop by a narrow margin.
Well done.

To be fair any team with the injuries we’ve had to put up with would probably struggle!
What was it that got said last night...21 operations between them...
Last night missing three dream team members, one our top try scorer, the other top metre maker...our two most destructive forwards Fifita and Pauli...Anthony England, vastly experienced...Arona probably one of the most underrated players in the comp and James Batchelor one of the brightest prospects in the game...any team is going to miss that quality throughout the large parts of the season...
We ended up 4 wins short of 5th place and I’d argue if injuries had been kinder we wouldn’t have been far away from getting four more wins...
We’re in good company anyway because Leeds finished 9th in 2016 the year after winning the treble and Warrington finished 9th in 2017 the year after reaching both finals...which just highlights any team can finish that low if things go against you...
