| Quote: Barry_McKenzie "Englands training methods are shocking.
You have a physical performance director who didn't have a clue when he did a similar role in the NRL.
The so called elite training manager doesnt get on with him, nor with 2 other trainers. One thinks it should be all weights weights weights, the other thinks its all about yoga.
The so called national coach hasn't got the cojones to stand up and stamp his mark on the side or over rule the 'elite training manager'
Even the bloke who is supposedly the teams nutritionalist has got about as much idea about sports nutrition as I have about putting new brake discs on a VW Golf.
England RL as a 'team' are a shambles.. from the ground roots upwards'"
You could have saved some time by just saying you don't know

All you have said about the coaching is "One thinks it should be all weights weights weights, the other thinks its all about yoga"
The rest was just speculation about the personalities involved and a strange analogy about changing break discs on a car
Just give me one or two specific examples of where the England team training methods demonstrate a weakness as you stated - that will settle things once and for all

Apart from the ones I've already mentioned?
Don't you think that a power struggle between the coaching staff is a pretty good example?
None of it was speculation either my friend.
Trust me.

| Centre, Scrum Half and Hooker are the three main areas of concern IMO.

Do I think that citing an organisational conflict based on personalities is a good example of poor training method
No, I do not
Just tell me which training methods you know England use that represent a weakness to the chances of the national team and we can end this conversation

Then thats why you are a big a loser as your team.
You cant see why hitting the weights hard during a tournament is a bad thing?
The team should be working on set plays and studying the opposition not hitting the gym and pushing out 100 kilo sets. The sides strength training should have been completed a long time ago.
Aerobic fitness is the right way forward at this stage of things.
Consider this conversation ended.

the forwrd pack has Bennett written all over it, given the size of them. Some big and physical 3/4's and you'll be laughing.

That's it then is it? You state that the English coaching methods represent a weakness for chances of the team and when asked to cite specific examples, you say that England should be "working on set plays and studying the opposition". That's incredible insight into the world of international sport
You are correct, this conversation is ended - I only have a limited time on this planet and I won't be wasting any more of it trying to have an adult conversation with you

If the backline consisted of Briscoe, Atkins, Shenton and Hall it would be pretty big and physical
Before people jump on me, I'm not saying they are the best three quarters that England / GB have ever had but they are all pretty good athletes

| They are Dunbar, im certainly not Atkins' biggest fan as a rugby player but he is a true 'athlete'. Briscoe's a freak of a boy, Halls big enough and Shenton will be class. The problem with the latter for me is for 6'4 or whatever he is, i bet he's only about 14 stone, he should be bigger than he is.

| The coach is our biggest problem, I just can't see him taking us forward in any way,I really hope I'm wrong but I fear for us big time.

He certainly doesn't appear capable of inspiring a team, not the most articulate person in the world. However, I personally believe our biggest weakness is the lack of intensity in the SL, our players just aren’t mentally strong enough to get anywhere near Australia. We have athletes that are more than capable of physically matching them, mentally we are weak and that won’t change until SL Players are used to competitive games every week.
