Brisbane 40-10 NZ Warriors
Manly 42-8 North Queensland
The crowd was very poor though, even taking no away support into account.'"
Thanks for that spoiler

Yeah, cos if I wanted to avoid a Rugby League score I'd log onto a Rugby League forum. That wouldn't make me a dumbass at all.

| The problem is this is a non game, Wigan get a week off (woopee) while Catalans get another chance. We could have an embarrssing situation of this game been played again in two week. The play offs NEED to be reduced.

I'm reading about the Wigan v Catalans match. Why would I expect to see a comment about the NRL?

| I would have top five only in the play offs.
Hub cap winner straight to GF, this would also have the bonus effect of stopping teams resting players for certain games throughout the season ala Wire at London.
Then 2v5 and 3v4 play week one, the winners of these two games meet the week after for the right to play in the final.
The play offs as they are now are a bit of a farce to say the least.

| At least in the NRL have a crossover of teams in week 3 eliminating the possibility of a repeat fixtures from week 1. Oh, and they didn't adopt that club call thing either... I wonder why.

Thread drift. That, and the fact that people talk about the "game" in all manner of instances. If ever I didn't want to know a Rugby League score I definately wouldn't log onto a Rugby League site.

no need to apologise
To get back to the game, I thought Wigan were superb in both attack and defence. Catalans tried to blow them away from the start but Catalans attack wasn't quite firing and Wigan held them out.

| Catalan were awful. I think Sky has been unlucky this year in their featured games. The ones they have missed have included from us beating Saints and Hull Kr by a last second drop goal, and a loss to Wire on a seventh tackle. Or wigan overturning a record deficit at Hull KR. Of all the play-offs, Wire and Saints is the game, and I just think Sky have ended up with duff games, with better games going on away from the cameras.
it hasn't been a memorable season. Not sure of the reason. Maybe Leeds changed the flavour last year, when they showed that league position matters less than momentum.

| My season overview as follows:
Wire and Wigan miles ahead of a poor Saints and ageing Leeds. Cats are the best of the rest who simply make up the numbers.
To save the RFL's blushes Wigan allow Widnes to win a game, just as Betts was going to be hung, drawn and quartered on the town hall steps.
Salford implode at the new lego ground, London and Cas are woeful whilst Bradford blow up completely. HKR realise they can't afford all those Johnny foreigners and Hull have the annual injury crisis.
Welcome to SL, pinnacle of TGG and home of the ground breaking play off system.

| Got to admit S/L on sky has been a big turn off for me and my son, most games this season i have turned off at Half time, seriously considering ditching sky, have got Premier and have enjoyed watching the NRL and most of the Championship games have been superb far better quality than i think S/L fans give credit.

| The whole season has been a turn off. I don't know whether it's the standard of the players and the lack of intensity of the games or just the style of it. Quick play the balls were eliminated over the last few seasons meaning it's not possible to build momentum in supposedly 'big' games as the other team are basically allowed to do what they want, so 7 or 8 second play the balls are the norm.
Super League has been a horrendous viewing spectacle this season. You can tell it's really bad when Ed and Steve don't go on about how this is the best season of Super League ever, like they have for all the previous seasons without fail. I cannot really think of a single decent game this season. I'm sure there has been a few, Wakefield have had a few tight scorelines, but I've missed most of those. All the Saints - Wigan derbies have been farcical and the Leeds - Bradford derby pretty much doesn't exist any more.
Super League needs to mean more. There NEEDS to be fewer teams, which spreads the existing talent that bit thicker. I'd go for 10 teams. They should play home and away once with no stupid extra fixtures that warp the league table.
