Peacock knew when to go. posters on RL fans knew it was time to go.
McBanana did not.
Unfortunately it is a year too late as it does not give enough time to blood new props. Some of us said this a year ago but were shouted down.
Well done to Jamie though. Has been a great player and always gave his all in an international shirt.

| His best days are well behind him and it gives younger props a chance, so in many ways I'm thankful. However, Garry Schofield's inevitable smugness makes me wish he kept going!

| Thank God the toothless goon has called it a day. Now let's get someone in who can talk in front of the box rather than slaver and mumble.
Banana would be playing him til he was 50 if he could.

| Looks like Schoefields recent opinion piece made JP take a good look at himself. I know he isn't liked by many but Schoefield said what most people had been thinking for a while now.

| No doubt Mcbanana is now scratching his head thinking 'what do I do now'.
It seems JP has had to do the job of the England coach himself as Mcbanana is too stupid to make the call himself.
There is now a shortage of experienced international props at the highert level.
So well done Steve what a great job you are doing.
I am now curious who is going to step up from the knights squad.

| Very interesting this assumption that ‘Peacock is doing McNamara’s job for him’ and ‘why didn’t McNamara make this decision’
Well, I tell you this. If I decided that one of the people who had worked for me and done a great job for the past 11 years wasn’t cutting it any more, I would be humiliating him publically, I would take him to one side and say that we need to rethink the structure and he should perhaps think about lightening his load etc
We don’t know what went on in the background but a good outcome is that Peacock retires with dignity from the international game rather than being dropped. If McNamara had nothing to do with it, fair enough, but a good leader gets the outcome he wants regardless of how its announced

This is international rugby league we are talking about.
JP hasn't been cutting it for a while at that level 'dignity' has bugger all to do with it.
If your'e not cutting it at international level sport you get dropped.
Or at least you should if the coach has the stones and sees the bigger picture (world cup next year) to do it.
Mcbanana would rather play the same old faces as he clearly cannot look outside the box.

| Well done on a great international career Jamie!
It'll be interesting to see who replaces him. Apart from Mossop and Hill who are the young props coming through?
Amor has done well at Wakey and Luke Burgess in the NRL, but what about others?

| Only rugby league fans could take an announcement like this, and rather than commend the player on his career use it to have a moan.

| Peacock has been a great performer at international level, he's been one of a very small number of British forwards in recent years would have been able to match the Aussies physically. (Morley and Farrell are the only other two who spring to mind, let's see how Graham, Ellis, Hock etc get on in the world cup).
Personally I think he's slightly late in calling time on his career but the blame for that lies with the people selecting him.
