| 'International' RL is a joke, so thats my excuse for not going.
It's just NZ v AUS now and for the foreseeable future.
Couldn't give a stuff about England, plus hate half the team so can't suddenly support them for a match

| Im going. Happy to do so. If others dont want to go who cares.
There are enough people in the county who will want to go we find them and tell them and we improve.
If others dont want to, sod them, they can sit at home sucking on their humbugs reminiscing about standing on a terrace sipping bovril and who its not like it was in their day.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| I agree the standard of modern Bovril is appalling.

I don’t understand this ‘International Rugby League is a joke’ line
So what if the two favourites for 4 Nations and the World cup are New Zealand and Australia – well that’s a 100% improvement on the last three decades when it was just Australia by how many. New Zealand have injected real life into the international scene with their performances (particularly in finals) over the past 3 or 4 years
And so what if the Kiwi’s and Kangaroos are the best teams – the matches they contest are among the finest and most competitive sport on the planet and something the whole sport should be proud of
As for England. I have supported GB and England for the past 25 years and I am still waiting for my first taste of victory – but that will make it all the sweeter when it arrives. I have been disappointed so many times but I will not stop shouting for the team
I am optimistic that we have some real talent coming through the ranks – Tomkins and Lomax are two of the best young players I have seen since I have started watching the game. Add Brough, Robinson, Roby and Widdop and the key attacking positions have some real match winning talent... more than I can remember for a long time

10381.jpg There is no such thing as bad weather.......only the wrong type of clothes
EDIT: Except in Ireland where there is no such thing as good weather:10381.jpg |

| As a Welshman I struggle to get behing the "England" banner.
I went to Australia to support GB, but struggle to go to Hull (or wherever in England) to watch England as it doesnt excite me.
Plus I live in Ireland and the RFL announce the fixtures far too late to get decent accommodation, flights etc.

Gotta love self-defeating parochial balloon heads.
I look forward to a future post from you moaning about how league can't compete with union's cash without a trace of irony.

| Im going to Leigh and possibly HJ. Cant really afford to go to Wembley.
Id feel so much more confident about these 4nations if we had a decent coach in charge though.

You mean two shock victories out of 11 fixtures ?
Quote: Dunbar "And so what if the Kiwi’s and Kangaroos are the best teams – the matches they contest are among the finest and most competitive sport on the planet and something the whole sport should be proud of'"
New Zealand have won 3 of the last 17 fixtures with average points difference between the sides is greater than 17. This is not what is classed as competitive, NZ can cause a shock and each of their victories in that period have been a shock but classing those fixtures as 'most cpetitive sport on the planet' is just plain delusional.
Quote: Dunbar "I am optimistic that we have some real talent coming through the ranks – Tomkins and Lomax are two of the best young players I have seen since I have started watching the game. Add Brough, Robinson, Roby and Widdop and the key attacking positions have some real match winning talent... more than I can remember for a long time'"
Not one of those players have performed well in the tri-nations. Even Tomkins got demoted to full back by his club boss because he was out of his depth at half back.
International RL is definitely not a joke, maybe not supported well by players and fans but certainly not a joke and in a better situation than it has ever been.
