| God you guys are very pessimistic.
I'll start off by saying I haven't got a video (nor Sky Plus). This is not just about having it solely on iPlayer but about getting the programme onto the television (like every other programme the BBC makes) so that people can watch it easily. I understand there are many other ways of watching it but I think having it "live" on the afternoon/evening is always best. I believe that having it only on in the North is the BBC's way of saying that it is still a Northern sport and should be kept up there.
The other thing is that when this is one the South generally has episodes of 5 year old programmes on repeat. For instance on the 1st of May it will be a repeat of "Life Of Riley".
@PHIPPS I am hoping if there are enough signatures that the BBC will take notice. I was considering organising a march through London like the Student Protests and I was also considering running naked through the BBC Breakfast studio tomorrow morning. However at the last minute I decided against both. If you do have any other ways of doing this apart from a petition then please let me know.
@Big Graeme I don't I think it is a very good programme with insight and of course highlights. There are very few rugby league programmes on television so I'm surprised your not a fan.

| I've signed and tweeted it, also emailed to my contacts. Don't know why people are being negative, you are trying to do something for the game we all love and we should all back you up.

I agree, surely its only going to be good for the sport if more people can watch at a resonable time. It isnt the best run show, but they do it on no budget anyway so dont see why they cant keep it. Dont we give them the highlights for free ?

| With the removal of Sky Sports News from freeview there are very few avenues for the person who is not already a fan of the sport. Some are converted while flicking through the channels and finding live Super League on Sky Sports and the same can be said for the smattering of matches throughout the year on the BBC.
Without a regular national television program and access to the masses through SSN we will never be able to convince those who are at least open to new ideas to give rugby league a go. Jamie Foster's try at Leeds would be a great example of something that would get people down to their local club, be that Salford, London, Wrexham, Bradford or wherever. Unfortunately our message is only being heard by the converted, or in areas where there will always be a strong connection to the game.
We are considered by many to be a regional sport, and it is surely something that would be raised by potential sponsors; why would a multinational company want to be involved in a regional sport, when for a little effort from the RFL they have a national sport that is shown throughout the nation.
Leeds will always have a rugby league team, Wigan will always have a rugby league team, St Helens will always have a rugby league team, but a Super League that only a handful of English people know about will not be one that has a Super League that is growing.
The Super League show is part of the way to get ourselves back towards somewhere we should be, BBC Two Sunday, they pick the time from 1pm to 11pm and they have entertainment that costs them little and is easily accessible to everyone who has eyes, or at least one eye.

| This is something I was discussing with the RFL South West regional manager earlier - up north we almost don't need to advertise the sport (almost being only a mild exaggeration) since the clubs are established, and the vast majority fans will go regardless, and new fans will come in through contact via the existing fanbase, mainly - take Millennium Magic, for instance? How much money was spent advertising it to people who've probably already made their minds up whether or not they're going anyway? And yet in Wales and other areas... barely a marketing presence at all. How many people from Cardiff do you think went to MM? The same goes for most aspects of the sport outside the heartlands where it is already strong. I think it's poor that the BBC won't broadcast a short, weekly show in a reasonable slot to the country. The Challenge Cup is shown (for now...) so why not SLS? I'm not saying the SLS is a broadcast of high standards, but it's something that people could see and think, "Hang about? What's this sport I'm watching? I want to find out more" (word for word).
Sign the petition. Why not? It might do nowt in the long run, but apathy is much worse.

| Does anyone know if there are restrictions on when the BBC can show the highlights nationally, ie do SKY have preference to show them first on Sunday at 2130. A possibility rather than a probability that was put forward by someone that works for the beeb.

Hardly any.
Wales RU side were playing in Edinburgh the same time, Cardiff city were at home and from what I've experienced of South Wales hardly anyone knows RL exists.
