Don't think NZ did anything too special as a team even though Benji shone, but were still well above the level we played at. Robinson & Westwood stood out for me. Griffin, Brown & Atkins are not good enough at international level. S Tomkins was more involved at FB but we desperately need him at SO. We need to bulk up in the back line because we were far too soft. 2nd half Shenton improved. Brown's no try was rightly scrubbed off, you can't layyour hands on but agree some of the other decisions against us were poor. Would like to see this 13 start next week....

Drop Joel Tomkins. At least the three people you mention there tried to actually do something in the game, albeit not right well. At least they were involved.

On the whole you have to say we were poor, a lot of things to work on and a decent second half spell can't hide the fact that some real basic stuff was going wrong for us.

I'm not sure what we could do to improve for next week, especially given the squad we've picked. Gleeson should have been in there for sure (Clubb is barely up to it at SL level) and if Robinson does come into the halves his defence is going to be questioned time and again and he was found wanting today. That said, we have to go with Tomkins at full-back and get some quick ball to him at third man, and as a result the only viable combo is Brown and Robinson. Backline as we finished the game is the one to go with, Fielden and Griffin should be sweating on their places given their performances today so maybe some changes in the pack.

I don't think we need Sam desperatley in the halves, I always think Tomkins looks far more dangerous joining in the line from FB.

I'd maybe juggle the forwards and keep the same backline we had in the second half today for next week.

We need to play at close to our full potential. That means Burgess/Ellis playing at their NRL best, Robinson taking control of the match, Tomkins taking the line on and creating chances etc etc. And then we need Aus to have a shocker.

Completely clueless in attack. No organisation or structure going forward. We were basically reduced to five drives and a kick rugby for the vast majority of the game. We didn't utilise and single set move or dummy runner in the entire game. The only breaks we made came from an offload.

Kicking game was gash as well

It was a good performance and much better than I probably expected especially with a completion rate of about 50% after 15 or so minutes. Roby in his first spell was pretty poor but in his second was quality. The defence on our right hand side (Shenton/Goulding) is worrying however the attack on that side was potent.

Atkins for me isn't good enough nor is Brown. They try but lack any real quality, how many poor decisions does Brown make? It was stupid to push over Eastwood, his kick on the play after we scored back to back trys was very poor (out on the full) and he put one decent kick in all game. Robinson looked good which was a bit of a suprise and Widdop looked better at left centre then he did at FB however who else do we have to play FB?
