| This first bit is funny....
Note for accuracy......The Auckland Warriors were formed in 1995.
Quote: dally messenger "If SL never happened union would've never gone proffesional.'"
Note for accuracy II.....SL started in 1996
Now......just so we are all sure of what we are saying.....dally messenger and M4E are saying that as a result of the NRL deciding on an Auckland based franchise for their team
and because Rupert murdoch decided to bail out the M62 hobby that was close to bankrupt, the IRB sat around a table in a Dublin pub and suddenly decided to go
professional......outstanding effort guys. The IRB had been planning on going professional for over 8 years.......it wasn't a knee jerk reaction......
Both efforts will be entered in the most stupid statement EVER competition at the end of the year.....I reckon they will come in at number 1 and 2.....but we have 9 months to go,
so keep trying.
Next up.....
Quote: dally messenger "from what ive heard he has 2 reasons to dislike RL
Now I will deal with these seperately so as not to confuSe you too much.
1. I played Rugby Unon as an amateur (86/87) at a decent level in England. I was not paid (wasn't good enough) but I suspect others
may have received the odd brown envelope.
So...no, I didn't play Pro RU.
2. I Applied for 3 jobs actually......the first one the RFL interviewed me for and they decided wanted me to do it but they were paying peanuts and at the time I wsn't taking a 40k cut in wages and 100k in income for anyone.
2nd, I was informed that I had not been selected and the third one I received no response from.
If I was bitter, I wouldn't have bothered to organise away travel for our fans, helped out with open days and flyered for the club
.....I do on the other hand, have a very vocal opinion about where the club has gone and is still going wrong.....because I am a passionate fan. So...wrong again.
one of my favourites on this thread so far is....
Quote: dally messenger "
Not only have you received no messages of support from anyone other than your other ID's, you are considered a joke by the
majority of posters on here and even the mod has asked you to stop with the url-fest.
Stop trying to sound authorative....you are failing miserably.
Your gridiron gave us the bomb post from last year is the stuff of legend.....
Because I dare to watch kick and clap, or dare to challenge opinions regarding the popularity of AFL.....or the global nature of Union compared to League I get grief.
Thank god this is the 21st Century........otherwise I'd have been burnt at the stake by now....

| Most active threads on the AFL/NRL boards from page 1 to page 100.
1. This one......which is marked as OT and about other codes.
2. coming in with a massive 321 posts is a thread with the Wallabies in the title...so again, invlves another code
3. Next in is a thread with AFL in the title....another code
4. A thread about Mathew Johns, a gangbang allegation and him leaving his show as a result....so strictly, about RL but mainly about 1 girls options with regard to the number of lovers she likes and the type of man who finds that attractive
To be fair....in at number
5. A thread about TV viewing figures when compared to other codes
No joke.....this is the most paranoid board on RLFANS.COM make no mistake about it

I don't really watch rugby, but is Super Rugby or whatever it's called even shown on terrestrial TV. Because these figures shown are normal and not subscription TV only. Which would be a reason as to why there are none there.

It's not an NRL game though is it. It's a game with NRL players. Think of the All Stars games in the US.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Channel 9 has highlights on at midnight on a Monday, maybe he expects that to challenge live rl?
What I find ridiculous is the Nrl isn't shown in three other states.

| To be honest, I know how well RL does on TV, we all do. We just don't need to be reminded of it every day, that's all. Just sort of reeks of insecurity, when there really doesn't need to.
However, for the sake of fairness. Rugby Union is shown on terrestrial telly, irrelevant of the time of day. I didn't know that, as I don't really look out for it.

I only found it because it was on before Sl, which has been moved to one show a week now at 1 am!

You think.
Seriously....as I have said earlier, the top 5 threads on this board refer heavily to other codes....wonder what Freud would make of it
