| Quote: William Eve "A whole tragic weekend of sitting through 7 meaningless regular season SL fixtures at just the one venue which is surrounded by sundry chavhole estates? No thank you. I'd rather watch paint dry or plait fog.
The dates correspond with my off-season anyhow (mid-May to mid-August) as I no longer participate in that bull concept otherwise known as "Summer Rugby" (or, more accurately, the Sky Sports soccer off-season, yours in desperation, schedule filler).
Bring on the Cricket, Tennis and the FIFA World Cup during the summer months. Oh, and the State of Origin series on Premier Sports. That'll do me nicely.'"
Your reverse psychology is working Mr Eve, I've just bought my Magic ticket

| Quote: WARRIORCRAIG "I like this idea, it also means all the big games aren't coming at the back end of the season. The earlier rounds of the cup could easily be re-arranged to fit with a May final, and getting rid of the long gaps between the 5R and QFs and QFs and SFs may actually generate a bit more interest in those games.
In an ideal situation I would like to see the CCF on the bank hol weekend at the end of May, and the Magic Weekend used as a 9's competition in a week off between the league splitting from 2 x 12 to 3 x 8 (probably around mid July time). They'll continue to persist with this format of an additional league game where the fixture list is pulled from nowhere until the concept is killed off completely, however.'"
I like the idea, but the CC Final wud either have to be the first weekend of June, as the Football League have the late Bank Holiday booked up for their playoff finals. The first week in June when the football season has finally ended, but the World Cup/European Championships haven't started, Wimbledon hasn't started etc could be a good time for media coverage though.

| Radio 5 Live advertised their coverage of women's football by referring to themselves as the home of Rugby League and Women's Football. I think the latter is more our level than the FA Cup Final!

That would be fine, and I think having the CCF earlier would help the attendances of the cup semis and playoff games. The current system means the cup semis, final, playoffs and grand final all happen in the final 10 weeks of the season. A lot of ST holders don't want to shell out for so many extra games in a short period of time. Spreading these games out would be a logical move IMO.

And yet here you are talking about it, day after day, week after week etc..
I hate summer Rugby too though, you're right about that. I really miss being stood on freezing cold, dark (& empty) terraces covered in snow with other real fans of Rugby League, being treated to jaw dropping skills from supreme athletes like Steve Pitchford and watching Great Britain winning every international trophy on offer.
Those were the days

| If people want to go watch the FA Cup Final, so be it. Only 25,000 tickets for Hull City, and not all fans of FC & KR follow football, surely?
Just one of those things that can't really be helped, and why should everything be rearranged on the off chance some people might want to go watch football anyway?

Hope you have the same "off season" when it comes to posting inane garbage. Will be nice not having your quoted posts show up for 3 months...

Bless.
I'll assume you're still upset over that Sky SL Viewing Figures thread of yours dedicated to me which has turned out to be rather embarrassing for you? No wonder you've stayed clear of the thread since Round 1
Here's some advice - never take an early season RFL propaganda piece at face value and attach your supportive moniker to it because you'll end up looking like an idiot spouting inane garbage.
You can stick your dummy back in now.
I shall miss nothing of any consequence or relevance during my summer off-season apart from 10 meaningless rounds of SL and an even more meaningless Tragic Weekend.

| Erm , if you put him on Ignore and STOP QUOTING HIM then he ceases to be! It's the same old gash year in year out so you won't be missing anything of interest until the meltdown and the rattle comes flying out the pram again.
As for the FA Cup - it a farce. Both sets of fans outnumbered by Corporates? At least in the CC the Corporates CBA turning up leaving that ring of the best seats virtually empty.

pie.warrior - perhaps you should heed little Billy's advice, coming as it does from a idiot specialising in spouting inane garbage

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.; [/color:1g6itio7][/b:1g6itio7]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_663.jpg |

| I always thought that we had an agreement with the FA to avoid clashing with each other premier matches/finals
I have no wish to watch football, but you have to wonder at the mental capacity of the organisers of the weekend it putting it up against one of the top annual world sporting events with over 600 million viewers world wide.
Would have hurt anyone to have moved the Hull match to earlier or is there a touch of " its too late to alter now and sod em" about it.
Never mind yet another example of the RFL organising at its very best............

| The rfl knew a month ago that the possibility of the hull games clashing on the same day and time when the semi final draw was made, poor management from them waiting until now to dismiss the requests, funny sky can give 4 weeks notice but the rfl wouldn't, you have to wonder why?

86.jpg Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg |

Perhaps the Police would rather the Hull game isn't moved?
