| Games between Australia v New Zealand in rugby league are close to the best international sport in the world at the moment, especially given they have less than half a point between them in the last 9 tournament Tests.
We have had poor weather for the 4N internationals in some cases...
The Wellington crowd was excellent against an English side which looked vulnerable pre-tournament in the backs.
We will have a magnificent crowd in Auckland this weekend.
England is a separate issue but you have gone backwards in nearly every on-field playing respect since the SLW...start staging the games as events rather than trying to hide them away would be a start.

Yeah, and most of them are inbred hooray henrys who couldn't give a fudge about Union's domestic leagues unless it involves Leicester or Barf, not to mention giving the code a bad name in other sporting circles (*Cough*RL*Cough*). The RFU are like the illuminati of rugby, they only do what profits them rather than the good of the game. Hell, they can't even get a proper manager nor pick the correct players hence international England RU going to hell... does anyone know what Rob face Andrew actually does?

Aus v NZ is a great rivalry in lots of sports - I tend to support the underdog so I favour the Wallabies in rugby union, black caps in cricket, and Kiwis in rugby league.
And I agree that some of the recent rugby league games between the two have been incredible. The 2008 world cup final was one of the best games I've ever seen in any sport - it was absolutely ferocious. The fitness levels and skill on show that day was as good as anything you'll find in world sport.
I'm ashamed to admit that I couldn't be bothered to get up to watch England play recently - I stayed in bed and listened to the Aus game on the radio but fell back to sleep early in the 2nd half when it was fairly clear that we were heading for another defeat.
I will definitely make sure I'm up and ready for the final on Saturday though. I hope the Kiwis can get it right up them again.

the best part of this tourney has been the crowds in nz.
somehow weve got to have an annual 3 match series between the kiwis and roos, like origin, with each nation getting 2 home games, then swapping over.

| Cities should be rewarded and punished for their crowds. A city which puts the effort in, promotes the game and gets a good crowd should be rewarded with more games in the future while somewhere that draws a modest or frankly embarrassing attendance should be put to the back of the queue until they show they are capable of doing an international rugby league game justice.

| What I would love to know is why is it that when Australia beat England at home by 20 points it is commented on as the continued slow death of international Rugby League and yet when they beat New Zealand by 14 points away from home it is one of the finest contests in world sport?

Just the press (and sadly that includes the RL press) doing what they always do.

It's not just the press though is it, it’s the also the vast majority of the posters on forums like this too and we are supposed to be the people who love Rugby League and crave its success

| Ocres in NRL would be a huge achievement for the sport. So, why do we always play the ANZAC Tests in Australia? Let's get it to Eden, have Tonga vs Samoa there as a curtain raiser, and make a big deal of it.
