| Quote: chubbs1981 "Was this statement by the prem league? The PL is not the FA they can't ban teams
from sharing stadiums that are already shared they can however stop the promotion of teams from championship to the PL. As most PL teams font fully own their stadia there is very little that can be done in reality.
This is the PL blowing smoke up the booty of prem managers who use the poor pitch as an excuse for a poor display. It's just words with no possible foundation as for the fears about wembley that is not owned by the PL so they have no authority to it.
As the article stated prem rules state football must be the MAIN occupier. With most fooseball teams playing 25+ games at home including cups etc and most rl teams playing about 17 including pre season and cup there is still no problem as football is the main use'"
The Premier league could ban dual usage by making it part of their terms and conditions, it's no different than us stipulating certain conditions ie ground capacity for acceptance to SL.

Oh and CM, it will not affect Wembley as it is part owned owned by the FA not the Premier League.'"
Don't think any premiership reserves play at Warrington or Saints anymore?
AFAIK Everton play at Widnes, Blackburn Leigh, Utd Altringham, Liverpool Tranmere, Burnley Accrington, Wigan Robin Park wigan, City Sportscity Mcr, Bolton Leyland.

You certainly know your reserve grounds! Leyland is a terrible soulless venue but I went to a Burnley reserves game at Accrington last night which was enjoyable because their ground is pretty rugby league-esque.
If it wasn't for the running track at that Sportcity stadium, it would make for a great Championship ground.

| I really dont see the FA executing this so called proposal and secondly even if they did, it would potentially leave wigan, huddersfield, hull fc and crusaders without grounds to play in, which would leave the RFL having to make some major rule changes to all things licence related because they certainly wont be throwing above named clubs out any time soon!!!!

| Or it could mean Wigan Athletic and Hull City looking for new homes, and Huddersfield Town being being denied entry to the Premier League if they win League One and then the Championlship.
Wrexham are nowhere near the Premier League and highly unlikely to be, before the heat death of the universe.

| at the very least it might make the idiots at RLHQ realise that they have very little power in the grand scheme of things. and stop them railroading teams in this direction.
suddenly owning a less glamorous stadium seems more appealing than lodging in a fancy football stadium.
the football league versus the rugby football league would be like mike tyson versus ronnie corbett.

| err the only RL team that lodges with a football team is Crusaders – whose stadium is far from fancy.
AFAIK, at Wigan, Huddersfield and Hull, both the football and rugby league teams lodge with third party who owns the dual-use stadium (ie it's no more a football stadium than it is a rugby league stadium)

| The PL may consider it but as has been mentioned the idea of a joint Liverpool/Everton stadium isn't going away.
Liverpool need £100m now to lower the debts of their owners and then aquire more funds to buy the quality players if they are to qualify for and compete in the Champions League. The funds for either plan are not imminent and they appear to be heading for financial trouble.
Liverpool City Council has always favoured a joint stadium and ultimately this may be the only financially sound way forward for both clubs.
The PL are well aware of these facts.
They may propose the plan but carrying it through could be a different matter altogether.

Depends on how they clarify term 'dual usage' two different sports = dual, but as they seem to think its sports other than football that cause the damage then two clubs playing the same sport could be considered 'single usage'

| Quote: 100% Warrior "I do not know about Hull FC, but Wigan Warriors have a LEGALLY BINDING contract with both Wigan Athletic and Wigan Council for the DW Stadium (formerly JJB Stadium) to be a "multi-sport venue". When it first opened even Orrell RU had a season there.
As for banning RL from Wembley, does that mean NFL/RU/motorsports (as they have had a motoring event there) etc etc be banned too? From the national stadium? Which I'm led to believe has also a legally binding contract with the Government who part-funded the stadia, to be of a multi-sport stadia?'"
Orrell have never staged a game at jjb/dw let alone a season

| I think it was mooted originally that Orrell would use it as Whelan was involved with them. By the time the stadium was ready to use they had gone belly up though so it never happened.

The Wigan fans might disagree with you there

Clueless.
The two sides most at 'risk', Hull FC and Wigan, do not play in football stadia. And both of them have long leases to play at the dual-use stadia they use. Far more likely that the football sides would have the problem TBH.
