Quote: Cas Till I Die "I’m awaiting all the fans from fev up in arms at the brutal nature of the game like they did after we played them in the cup and Rangi Chase put an illegal shot on Ropati. I doubt it though, the great unwashed don’t have long memories. Well done Hull.'"
In over 50 years of watching and playing the game, Chase's tackle was the worst. most cowardly, unprovoked attack I've ever seen on a rugby field. Had he done what he did on the street he'd have gone inside. Instead, having broken a fellow professional's jaw he got 3 matches.
I wasn't there last night, because I've broken my ankle, I'll reserve judgement until I see it on Rovers' TV. But for the record, I reckon Hull thought we'd roll over like we did against Wire end of last season. They got a nasty shock.
Just for the record in case you've forgotten

More cowardly than Barry Johnson having his jaw shattered by a headbutt, despite him not having the ball & his arms held?

| Quote: Trainman "I’d say it was the players loosing self control rather than the ref loosing control. Yes, the ref made mistakes but he’s human and will do. The ref didn’t whack anyone round the head, throw punches or tip people upside down. It’s the players responsibility to maintain self control and on this occasion a fair few were unable to.'"
Absolutely. There's only so much a ref can do and if players decide to ignore yellow and red cards that's their problem. Shaul, for example, knew the ref was happy to send players from the field and still chose to grab the shirt.
I'm sure anyone who's played has experienced bad-tempered games where very few lads care what the ref does. Some of my fondest memories of playing are the roughest games that end with a laugh and a handshake with your opposite number.
I thought the ref was pretty good. Possibly should have given a yellow for the early challenge on Shaul though

The guy needs to grow up quickly.'"
I was praying Hock would get a proper grip of him at some point. Well worth a yellow card.
Connor does a good job of riling the opposition, gives it the mouth and then disappears behind the nearest forward. That said, if I was the opposition coach I'd target him for some nasty play - he's a penalty machine when he spits his dummy.

Perhaps I'm in a minority - but no, quite the opposite; I actually want to see the game played properly. If I wanted to watch games like that, I'd wander down to my local amateur club and catch an open age match.

| Think Jamie Shaul's sin binning just showed that the players had lost all respect for the match. He knows what he's doing, he's even laughing while pulling Briscoe back. And as soon as the ref blow his whistle he doesn't even look at the ref he just runs straight to the sideline (before the ref even had chance to get a card out of his pocket) laughing.
The game has just become a joke to some of them.
Or perhaps he just thought "I'm getting myself out of here before I end up getting my head taken off".

| Not surprised at all by that game for two reasons.
1. We had that same ref against Catalans away and Leeds at home - he was hopeless in both games. Even miscounting tackle counts.
2. Feath are hard b*****ds.

| Err Ropati definitely did have the ball. (Jamie shaul didn't, just to play devils advocate)
Not condoning Chase' poor tackle but fev fans like to dine out on it like it's the worst thing that's ever happened on a field and it must be the Castleford way...
As for people blaming the ref, give over. Actually felt sorry for him as towards the end the players , hull especially were becoming a joke, with the game won and a mounting injury list, just keep your noses clean and live to fight another day.

"Poor tackle" - weasel words if ever I saw them; and Fev fans may have dined out on it, but Ropati didn't for quite some months, unless it was through a straw.
It remains one of the most brutal and sickening attacks I've ever seen on the pitch; and no amount of downplaying will sanitise it.

| The more I see and hear Radders the more I like him, he says it as it is, describing it as a pub game disgusting and apologising to the viewers. We need more like him ..

No sir. I was providing an example of a worse incident on the field (in my opinion of course).
Somebody said Radford's comments on radio humberside were interesting, what were they ?
