Tomkins the new Pryce- goes missing in the big games

Reverted to his bad old ways of gobbing of at the ref brought on by frustration.

What was Tomkins supposed to do when Wigans forwards were giving the ball away each time they had it?

Four examples off the top of my head that I can think of:

1.Played superbly and scored in the 2010 Grand Final.

2. Played well and set up a try in the 2011 Challenge Cup final, which is overlooked because of his action towards the Leeds fans.

3. CC Quarter Final against Warrington last season, was superb throughout apart from one lost ball which resulted in Charnley's try. Scored a wonderful try also.

4. 4 Nations game at Wembley against the Aussies, he played well there also.



Yesterday he didn't get a look in as Wigan hardly had the ball in Wire's half because our forwards were outplayed by Warrington's pack. And when we did get in their half, we'd have someone knocking on or someone making a mistake.



It was just the same on Monday night, James Roby, many people's choice for MOS, was virtually non-existent because he was playing alongside a less dominant pack.

This. If Tomkins doesn't tear a team apart every game he immediately becomes " a player who can't deliver when it matters", despite having delivered in big games over and again. Any other team would sell half their squads for Tomkins. Just sit back and enjoy their delusions about Tomkin's 'weaknesses'. Will make the GF win all the more enjoyable, when he tears someone a new one.

nah, he's got the opportunity to inject himself into the game, the one occasion he did he got a penalty from ganson for us not being square. He limited his own involvement yesterday, barely did any kick returns, barely got in at dummy half on the first tackle which is a common tactic for him.





The only time you really saw him, was when he was getting himself involved needlessly, gobbing off following the hill mossop handbags and when wood got penalised for pushing farrell off him.

Agree with you about O'loughlin. If Mr Childs was refereeing he would have been in to double figures penatlies conceded.

For all those fans who missed Mr S Tompkins esquire during yesterdays game, he was the one doing the Tommy Makinson impression, and the one who...........errrrrr......actually i think that was the only stand-out thing he did.

I enjoyed the bit where Mr Ganson told Morley and McIllorum(?) to "...stop kissing you two, and get up!" That's why I love our game, when the referee sees a bit of handbagging, he just rips the urine out of the offenders who get up looking sheepish, and play continues.



As for the game itself, Wire did what they did to us, and just choked Wigan at every opportunity. 75% possession at one point, and Wigan completing at 50%? Never gonna win a game like that. The only worrying thing from Warrington's perspective is that they didn't score more points.

There were 2 tries disallowed that looked fine, Joel's where Ganson had blew the whistle and Waterhouse where it got called forward. With Hodgson kicking those would probably have turned into 12 points.



I'll take 30 points against the best defence in the league though.

Im a Wire fan, but I freely admit Sam is a genius. I love to see him play against everyone except us.
