There was a major inquisition after the All Blacks loss in Hong Kong to the Wallabies that is still going on. The poor kid, Donald, who failed to kick the ball into touch in the last minute can thank his lucky stars that the team were heading for the UK after the match.

It is a dream of all Kiwi kids to be an All Black when they are older.

the nail in the coffin will be the rise in the nrl salary cap to $6.5 - $7 million, a level which NZ S14 clubs cant compete with

this will see a steady stream of players from union to league.

NZ has a strong provinicial Rah Rah Comp as well (ITM Cup) been told most of the Kiwi public would prefer to play only that and not the S15 (from next season)

Why would you want players switching from the S15 to the NRL dally? you said none of them would make it..

Anything you were saying 12 months ago you're completely just changing your tune now

theres a poll floating around showing that more people prefer the nrl to ITM cup in auckland

the crowds are terrible.

the S15 has harmed RU in nz like the broncos did to the BRL.

never said anything of the sort.

theres a load of players in the S15 that could make good nrl players, especially the ones who have a RL background like piri weepu or qude cooper, or are ex Rl players like jarred saffy etc.

in addition to boosting RL playing ranks there is also the massive blow it would strike against union and boost for RL espcially in nz.

can you imagine the publicity RL will get if they sign a few good all blacks players.

we should only be targetting their best players or ones with a RL pedigree.

I remember it well. And the mad butcher buying all those freebies for kiwis over here. However I looked up 2002 after your comment and may offer an explanation as to why league was being talked about above Union in NZ as you put it. No Union was being played. The season was over and been for several weeks.
