On an unrelated note, is your noose and razor-blades online store still going from strength to strength?

| 60x10k fans= 600K pounds
normal season ticket 120 pounds. 600k/120pounds = 5000 fans
Not sure how many season tickets they sold this year but I am guessing next year would have been around the 6000-7000 mark? So....
if they sold 6000 @ 120 quid then they are down 120k pounds+.

So each of those 6,000 fans would only need to spend £20 over the course of 13 visits in ancilliary income (souvenirs, programmes, food etc) to make back the money they have lost on the season tickets?
How much is a programme these days?

| Cracking idea, more clubs should look at similar marketing ploys outside the top 4 to get the fans in.

| I have just bought my £50 Special Offer Doncaster season ticket and i have pledged for the Bulls offer. It's worth it even if i can only make the Friday games due to clashing with the Dons.

Its not quite as easy as that as the items you quote have a cost to them, printing costs, food suppliers etc. where the costs to open Odsal is going to be pretty much fixed for 3000 or 23,000.
But you do have a point and lets not forget the club are saying if they sell 10,000 it doesn't mean they can't sell more tickets if they manage to make this amount.
Bradfords average SL crowd this year is 8363, however the lesser supported clubs show a core Bulls crowd of about 6000-6500 (7,100 against London, 6,200 against Catalans) so even if they did all have season tickets if they manage to sell 10,000 they would be able to make the money up in other costs over the course of a season and have a better atmosphere.
They just need the fans to take up the offer - we'll only see how successful it has been come next season but they need to get some talent on the pitch to generate more interest after such a dismal showing for the majority of 2010

| Well a large part of this being a success will be dependant on the signings made in the off-season. Walker, Ainscough and Elima are rumoured to be nailed on. Plus the Bulls will still have an overseas spot to fill with hopefully another half back.
So far, the buzz has been positive for this deal with a lot of people who'd normally not buy season tickets giving their support.
It wasn't long ago when Bradford were getting 5 figure crowds so this deal will hopefully get some of those fans back through the Odsal gates and if the Bulls have a sucessful 2011 then there's a good chance of those fans sticking around for 2012

| One aspect no-one has mentioned is the RFL levy on gates. Not sure it it still applies to be honest, but it didn't used to cover season ticket receipts, those went totally to the club, whilst cash taken on the gate was subject to the levy. If those rules are still in place some of the shortfall from cheaper tickets would be made up in paying less to the RFL.

| Quote: dally messenger "capacity at halton
From the clubs point of view, should both stadiums be filled (highly doubtful I know), Widnes would see a greater income per game by some £65k (capacity is closer to the the 13500 mark for clarity) in far better surroundings I might add.
Better deal for Widnes in the event of the above scenario but the Bulls deal is better for the man in the street should it come off.
Both good deals whichever way you look at it and any club striving to get more speccies through the gate must be applauded .
The marketing is key to this as people in Widnes are claiming not to know about the deal. Flyers were handed out at the last home game but the wider public need to know about this deal - no just the regulars. No reports in the local press regarding the deal. Hopefully our new CEO who is regarded as a marketing guru will remedy this.

| Well after we're 3 days into the promotion and the current tally for pledges is 2720. That's an average of 906 a day. If we keep getting those figures the 10k will be hit inside a fortnight.
The Bulls are pushing this as much as they can. They've the 1st team in the City centre on Thursday afternoon pushing for pledges.

Good luck to them, its a real shame for the game that these fans turned their backs on the game when the trophies dried up
