| Quote: gutterfax "I have to say, the events at Oddslum since the RFL first injected cash to prop up the bulls in January of this year are dragging the game further into the mire. This, coupled with the fact that the RFL have invested more time and money in bradford over the last 6 months than they have in 17 years of SL in London is beyond comprehension.
Bradford should have been allowed to die and served as a warning to other clubs to cut their cloth accordingly...instead, a dangerous precedent has been set and the RFL will regret this decision....sooner rather than later. There's 500/600k in wages to be paid before the end of this season.....then there's the rent and other running costs.....and for what?
All teams should have simply been awarded 4 points,(6 for Leeds) regardless of their results v Bradford and the players released as free agents. Halifax should be offered Bradford spot for the 2 years left on the Franchise and a new Bradford RL club should start 2013 in CH/CH1.
As it is, the RFL will now be expected to offer the same level of time and money to other SL clubs who find themselves in a mess.......if David Hughes walked away from London Broncos today, does anyone think the RFL would bail us out? Like Fk they would...

If accepted, London Broncos and the other 12 SL clubs will all own 7.7% of the Bradford Bulls and therefore, will be liable for 7.7% of the running costs of the club. The money used to bail out Bradford since January this year comes from the SL Kitty......which is itself run by the RFL and is made up predominantly of SKY TV cash.
Regardless of who signs the cheques, this money would be better spent developing the game rather than propping up a badly run business. The only reason the RFL/SL have made a bid is to protect their investment in Oddslum. If Bradford Bulls vanish, they (the RFL) will own the lease on a stadium that nobody will want to pay to use.
As I say, a dangerous precedent is being set by the RFL and as much as it may sound nasty.....Bradford Bulls should have been let die instead of being propped up by the other member clubs.
It is often said that no player is bigger than a club, or that no club is bigger than the game, but it would seem that Bradford Bulls are deemed bigger than RL itself.

| What happens when Bradford start bidding for players and other teams, who will now own them, are bidding against them?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

What ' he ' and you it would seem, dont understand is that this decision removes Bradfords licence immiediatly

Id suggest we do, Widnes were refused SL due to financial issues, Wakefield were refused a guaranteed future licence due to financial issues, nobody would unconditionally bid for the Bulls, they were relegated today
In fact the only issue now is, where are they relegated to?

What i guess i'm asking here is ,are the rfl going to take a big hit here? because if thats the case then the 24 clubs below sl are obviously going to take a hit as well which is something we can't really afford to happen.

| Does it really mean that the clubs a going to own a share in the bulls or that they have agreed to allow the SL to purchase them??
Does Sl generate its own cash seperate to the RFL

No thanks! Nice sentiment gutters but I don't want my club being killed off by these d*******s ruining our sport keeping a licence warm for bradford's glorious return to SL!
I'd rather Halifax got there on their own merits when they deserve it and cope with it. Besides who knows what may be down the line for the championship clubs now...........

I suspect that the SL chairmen all voted in favour of the purchase once the RFL assured them that they won't have to pay a penny, nor lose income either.
This is 100% a bail out.....the RFL are trying to spin it as a "joint effort" when in reality, they are protecting their investment in oddslum.
As for 2013 onwards....I would be stunned if Bradford aren't in SL come the first round of matches in 2015.....what comp they are in between now and then is up to the RFL, who seem to be making this up as they go along, so probably Superleague
