no one in Salford cares about the rugby team. It’s the same in Wakefield and Huddersfield. It’s sad obviously but true which is why these 3 teams hold the game back

Most of those supporters have seen the square root of sod-all when it comes to success (you don't understand the concept) & yet they turn up in whatever numbers, some St's fans would walk away if they didn't make the play-offs.

What you should realise is that those few thousand people who do turn up to Salford games care a great deal. They aren’t turning up to watch trophy competing sides, they are turning up through loyalty. Something more successful club’s fans wouldn’t know much about.

I’d be more worried about the fact that trophy winning sides only pull in between 10-15000 fans. Is that all they can attract when being at the pinnacle of this sport? It’s pitiful really. Charlton pulled in similar figures to St Helens last season and they were in the 3rd tier of English football and Saints are arguably the third biggest RL club in this country. Portsmouth who were in the fourth tier last season had a higher average attendance than all clubs in SL! These more successful RL clubs have no excuses for their lack of fans. They aren’t exactly taking the game forward and pulling in big crowds week-in-week-out are they?

The harsh reality is that Group A clubs have taken the game as far as it will go in the UK whilst they are hamstrung by under-performing Group B clubs.....blaming the Group A clubs for not doing better is crass. Comparing us with football is insane by the way, but I am sure you knew that but did it anyway just to suit your argument.
