I can kind of see where he's coming from, Makinson would have taken it but Taia grabbed his arms. However I think it was an honest play at the ball and should have been a try.

Replace the Video Ref with a random number generator - 1 or 2 (Try or No Try). It will get more decisions right and avoid further embarrassment to the sport.

Well at least the terrible video ref decisions have evened themselves up. I said I could see the thinking behind the first one, not that one though.

I really don't like the ref's call concept. I think it puts pressure on the video ref's to find ways of confirming the on-field decision, rather than just assessing whether a try was scored.
