I think that is kind of Hetheringtons point. He has consistantly complained about the image of our game portrayed by signing banned/de-registered NRL players. He thinks there should be a hard and fast rule against them.

We should have a hard and fast rule, either banned players cannot play in SL, or if you get a visa play on.

However that isnt what we have now, which is a situation where the Dragons have registered a contract and the RFL are thinking about whether or not they will accept it but it shouldnt be someones decision who can and can't play in SL.

Nobody suggested that Hardacker should not be able to play RL. Or that Leeds or any other club should not be able to sign him following his tirade at Warrington.

Even on the suspicion at Leeds, no one suggested he can't play again.

So there is no comparison.

Wrong!! Most on here wanted him to be given a lengthy ban, which is exactly what happened. Carney has been stopped from plying his trade in the worlds premier rugby league competition. A slightly harsher punishment don't you think?

Because he isn't a repeat offender, it was just a silly mistake and he is unlikely to reoffend and attract bad press to Super League while he plays over here.

So has he ACTUALLY done this? Has ANYONE seen this email? Has anyone any proof? or has someone found the correct buttons to push on the internet for 3/4's of the RL one-eyed brain trust to break into the usual ill informed mouth frothing session?

Well yes, he was given a five match ban for homophobic abuse!

I like most would be in uproar if Hardaker or any player had committed these offences, however, you cannot get all high and mighty about a player coming into the comp when some of your own have done time for very similar offences. Its either all players are squeaky clean and we root out the offenders, or we allow all players to participate. You cannot simply pick and choose.

If is the the key word here, my feeling is that since Hetherington hasn't come out and denied the allegations, that there's probably something to this.

And i'm sure you were in uproar a month or so ago while Hardaker was being subjected to weeks of abuse over something he didn't do.
And how come you're not in uproar about Carney potentially playing in SL ?
