| Quote: Saddened! "He can't get an EGP if they go by their own guidelines. Grade B is 'light contact', C is 'full contact' and E-F (Which are not eligible for EGP) is 'full contact in an aggressive violent manner'. It would take some serious lying to suggest that he wasn't being aggressive and the contact wasn't violent there.
'"
You must have led a very sheltered life if you think that was an aggressive, violent headbutt.

| Can't defend that. Wasn't like Dorn had done anything really to warrant that reaction from Sinfield.....just a run of the mill holding down incident to start with.
I will say those that have gone on about the shocking language.....they do sound a bit ridiculous with that mock outrage.
For the headbutt incident he deserves somewhere between 3-5 matches I reckon. You'll take one off with a EGP.
3 matches misses Warrington in the cup semi.
5 matches would miss Wembley IF we got there.

| As entertaining as this 'Aren't Leeds the big bad wolf' business is, can we get a touch of perspective?
Sinfield got the red card he deserved, but lets not pretend for one second that he's a dirty player, he's probably one of the cleanest players in the game and this is so far out of character I'd not believe it had happened unless I'd seen it with my own eyes.
Peacock wasn't trying to hurt Clark in any way, shape, or form. He tackled him and naturally rolled over his ankle, all he was trying to do by holding the ankle was slow down the play. Suggesting otherwise makes your agenda a touch obvious.
Leeds are not a dirty team (check out the stats), so expecting a headbutt from Leeds ahead of any other team suggests you're either an idiot, or have an agenda. I'd suggest both.
Yes, Leeds got every single call in the second half. When the ball hit McGuire (who hadn't moved) from the kick and it went back to one we got that call. When McGuire almost regathered and the ball bounced back up and hit the cas players arm and went forward but that wasn't given and Cas got the ball - we got that call too. When half a dozen Cas passes from dummy half went forward and weren't spotted, we got all those calls. Just like in the first half, in the first minute no less, when the ball was stripped from Peacock leading to the opening try, another call that went our way.
Pile on all you like, but at least try and stick vaguely to the reality of what actually happened.

many other players have been in that position and manage not to do what he did!
as for the game, fantastic, best this season maybe'"
I dont disagree, i havent said what he did was ok. It was just silly but nowhere near the worst headbutt i have ever seen. Silly, wrong, lower end of the scale, no excuses, sending off right, he will get a couple of games. Life will go one.
Biggest punishment is that we looked on top and relatively comfortable at that point.

| Quote: Lord God Jose Mourinho "30 seconds from the end, Cas knock on recovered by an offside Cas player in front of him. Why was that given as a scrum and not a penalty?'"
Surely because the knock-on is the first offence? The fact a Cas player touches it next just kills the play?
Hate to repeat the theme of the year but the obstruction interpretation needs looking at - the disallowed try was a horrible decision.
And Sinfield! Kind Kev's crown has slipped a little tonight, losing the plot and headbutting is classy indeed. Leeds' old boys are getting sloppy at the dirty stuff in their tender years.
Joking aside, what a great game.

| Quote: craigizzard "Whilst I'm surprised at Sinfield, that was a football headbutt not a rugby headbutt so try to keep the outrage a level below that of the sensationalist Sky clowns.
I've never seen anyone sent off for "rutting stags" in either code of Rugby. You'll see several uses of the head the same or worse at play-the-balls in any match you care to choose.'"
That's the thing though. Had it happened at a play the ball it would have been that situation. But the penalty had been given, and Sinfield has to walk over to him to stick the head in. What the Cas player did was what you say above, squaring up and rutting, but Sinfield does go OTT with the aggression and does end up planting him one. The wild flurry of expletives and the rage in his face doesn't help him much there.
We've all seen worse headbutts, but it's a headbutt and the red and a 3-4 game ban (Which I would be happy to have reduced given his record), but under their own rules, they can't do that, so it'll have to be a grade C.

Bollox 1 game 2 as a token just so there isn't an anti Leeds meltdown n here.

Would love to know what Dorn said to Sinfield.
I would say that's worth a 2-3 match ban. One of the cleanest players in the game.'"
Dorn seemed to be talking to the ref more than he was to Sinfield. I just thought he took exception to whatever Dorn was accusing him of.
Good game anyway, two well matched sides and a draw was a pretty fair result. I thought the Carney disallowed try was dubious but can see why it wasn't given.
Am I the only one who thought Abletts first was a double movement? His arm went down before the line and his momentum stopped. I don't see how he can be allowed to have a juggle with it and then reach over the line.

over aggressive would see an e-f grading, pushing your head into someone elses' would seem so, but his clean record would swing his way, just like peacock who had never thrown a punch in his career before the leigh game!

If you grade that as an e-f, where does that leave you when someone properly headbutts someone?

Peacock + the other marker stood next to each other - clear penalty pretty much under the sticks
Neither given, both happened before that and would have meant what you saw never happened if Thaler actually had the bottle to give clear penalties to give Cas the game.'"
I don't think you have any credibility with that argument, at 24 - 18 down Cas got a string of penalties that culminated in Millingtons try and brought them level.
I agree about Peacocks foul on Clarke but not the Thaler comment

| Deserved a red. You can't do that. However, this thread is yet another indication of what a bunch of pu55ies RL fans are. We hear fans go on and on about how the games gone soft, bring back the buff blah blah blah yet whenever anything happens in a game of RL that even slightly resembles "biff" we see a 20 page thread on here with people crying and complaining like kids.
As for he Clark injury, nothing in it.

Yes, seems to be turning into a little bit of a grub does Peacock. Massively respect him as a player, but he just seems to want to scrap all the time. He doesn't need to get involved in any "pushing & shoving" he can let his rugby do the talking.
For what it's worth didnt see much in the Clark tackle.
