| Quote Roofaldo="Roofaldo"I would just point out that without Bradford's financial meltdown, Wakefield wouldn't have made the play-offs.'"
Can't be bothered writing this out myself so Ive shamelessly pinched it from another forum.
Quote Roofaldo="OMEGA"
Bulls fans need to recognise that every point you won was won with a team you couldn't afford. Forget the 6 point deduction your old BoD assembled a squad they didn't have the money to pay for and in doing so they breached the integrity of the league and undermined the game.
That group of players should never have taken the field together in the first place. '"
Quote Roofaldo="Johnoco"
You have a valid point but the Wakey players presumably didn't take to the field hoping another side would slip up financially? Its not like the Bulls were packed with superstars is it? If Wakey were a genuine top side they should have beaten the Bulls in both the games.
'"
Quote Roofaldo="OMEGA"
So had Wakefield gone out and signed 3 or 4 more quality players they couldn't afford and, with those players, done the double over Bradford would that be right?
Because that's what the Bulls did in fact they did more than just take points from Wakefield with their players they won other close games that without the extra players they perhaps wouldn't have.
It's impossible to say with certainty how many games the Bulls would have won with a team they'd assembled on an affordable budget but what is a fact is that they won every single competition point this year with a team they couldn't afford and one which other people eventually paid the wages for.'"
I think Richard Agar has done a superb job and his achievements surpass those of Gentle, Wayne and Potter making him the best candidate for SL coach of the year

| Quote Peter Kingsley="Peter Kingsley"Listen to yourself. Wakefield (who lost by 20 points) did not get thrashed because it was the lowest losing margin of the playoffs so far.
What. The. love.
Does that not illustrate how terrible our playoffs are, and how woefully out of their depth 50% of the teams who compete are?'"
You're spouting total rubbish fella, the Leeds Wakefield game was in the balance right up to the last 10 minutes. Wakefield lead three times during the game and bombed a chance with just 9 minutes to go. Leeds scored twice in the last 6 minutes to secure the win.
If you think that constitutes a thrashing because of how the scoreboard read at the end then you're a fool who as no understanding of sport.

| Wakey fans said this about Kear too. Look how that turned out.
Agar was a terrible coach, had no respect in the dressing room and ended up as a Hetherington puppet. We were well rid of him and his "pick my mates" methods.
Hull have massively improved this year under Gentle. We didn't beat Leeds under Agar either, if I remember correctly.

Agree, both have been terrible this year!
Wakefields useless performances in relation to the mighty Hull FC
Finished a whole two places below super Hull FC in the league
2 tries all at the KC and only lost out on goal kicks to Gentle inspired Hull
beat GatesHull Thundersharks out of sight at Belle Vue
Useless!

Kear is the best coach we have had in decades at Wakefield. Every coach moves on at some stage. His departure was more to do with administration and chanegs at the club than him.
We 'have' beaten Leeds so that example doesn't match up either.
For me the measure of a coach is how he improves the players in his charge. Agar has done that at Wakefield. We are happy with him at Wakefield......don't see why the Hull fans have any reason to moan any more.
Hul two years ago got 32 points in the league with Agar as you have now. Last year you had two wins and a draw less.....hardly ground shaking improvemnt to go back to 32 points.

There are differences that only Hull fans will notice, points etc do not always tell the whole story as most people know. You only have to look at the shirt numbers at Hull to realise how much as changed during the course of this season alone.
As for improving players, has he really done that this year? He started with a new influx of players (not sure on how many) so it is hard to gauge whether he has improved players when you don't have previous seasons to compare to. Like I said before he has done well so far but the acid test is 2013.
The only people who can form a true opinion of Agar are the Wakefield fans, who get to see the team week in week out and not those of us who see the odd sky game and the games against our own team.

| Surely, if the Wakey fans are happy with him that's all that matters. I wasn't sorry when he left us but I didn't have any personal issues with him. Good luck to the guy and to Wakey. The more strong Yorkshire teams the better for me.

I'm sure that Mr Gentle will do well at Hull but, this thread is titled "Richard Agar, well done" and from last season to this, his first in charge, nobody can doubt that he has done well.
Last season we won 7 games and finished 13th with 10 points (after a 4 point deduction).
This season we finished 8th with 13 wins with 26 points. Just eat humble pie like the rest of us and agree that he has done well.
Tomorrow is another day and we will all start again on 0 points next season.

| Regardless of your club affiliation, it's clear that Richard Agar has done a good job at Wakefield this season, as has the new Chairman.
We came out of administration and one way or the other clung on in SL by the skin of our teeth. Since then, the club has achieved a top 8 finish, posted a 25% increase in attendances and has made significant progress towards a brand new stadium that will put us amongst the best provisioned clubs in SL.
We don't expect any flags or balloons just yet, but I would've though that anyone who had an interest in the wider fortunes of RL should be pleased about the fact that a historic club appears to be finally sorting itself out?

Nah, you're not iconic enough. We only care about Bradford.

Which is a fair point, but it was a Wakey fan who dragged Gentle into this thread.
