That's not an attempt to "effect the tackle" to me that's a team effort to end Dixon's walking days!

Absolutely agree - Maguire has poisoned SL with a brand of rugby that may well have won some games, but has made an unpleasant and unedifying spectacle; several well respected coaches, countless observers and a group of players can't all be wrong. Good riddance to the sneering, cheating barsteward.

Haha.
How have Wakefield been doing these past couple of years btw? Not taken much notice of them.

What does that have to with anything that I posted, or anything else that's been said in this thread?
If you don't have a suitable or relevant retort to the original point, you do realise that you're not compelled to comment?

Just bored of the sh@t you post on here about Wigan, seemingly constantly.
It's funny because you'd probably give one of your testicles to have Maguire coaching Wakefield.

It's called having an opinion - I have one about how Wigan play the game under Maguire and when it's relevant, I post it.
As for your second point (and I use the term 'point' in it's loosest possible sense) no, categorically and unequivocally not.
If you're bored with reading other people's opinions, may I respectfully suggest that an internet forum may not be the best use of your spare time?

| A lot of the criticism of Maguire is way OTT. He brought in an NRL-style defence to Wigan, which has worked wonders for the side. I have no problem with a coach playing to the rules with the intention of winning.

So is winning okay if it means you are likely to maim an opposition player? As Mick Potter said, most clubs would have an ethical opposition to that.

| loved his little brochure showing which joints to pinpoint in the tackle.
Quote: Saddened! "It's a known technique that came from Melbourne. It's called the cannonball tackle and caused a lot of controversy when a 16 year old lost his career to it. The links to the Storm are there.'"
Road kill achieved i believe Maguire likes it to be called.

| Quote: Judder Man "Who are you Mr Dumb or Mr Dumber..........................We've played your lot 6 times this season and I've seen enough of your lot executing tackles to injure. Speaking to some of the parents at St Judes last weekend even they are concerned about the technique and don,t want it creeping into the young amateur game.
Its a pity Lima isn't going back to Oz with Hoffman and McGuire before he cripples someone out of the game, at least Coley has retired before he does any more head damage....................Why are Wigoons so DUMB and DUMBER.'"
You've seen plenty of tackles, but you have no idea as to what the tackler intended to do at that moment - none of us do. Parents are quite correct to be ''concerned about the technique'', but that isn't to say that it's a deliberate attempt to injure people, more that the technique itself can be dangerous if not carefully and properly managed and applied.
Oh, and before you talk about me, or any other Wigan fans being 'DUMB', learn some basic grammar.

Are you seriously suggesting that Maguire has trained the likes of Lima and Hoffman to 'carefully and properly manage and apply' their tackle technique?! That's the most ridiculous statement I've heard throughout this discussion and is not in any way borne out by the evidence that's before our very eyes on a weekly basis.
Two men hold up the tackled player - a third man barrels into his standing leg with no regard to the possible consequences; there is nothing careful or managed about that, as you well know.
Sheesh - as I've said before, it's like a cult.
