Saw that a few weeks ago. The telephone conversation is pretty much irrelevant in that thread. He clearly just got through to some call centre monkey who was reading off a script. I wouldn't read anything into that.

I wish Sky would put a bid in for NRL I use to enjoy watching it on a Saturday and Sunday morning I will be very annoyed if it goes to ESPN.

That appears to be the feeling of most UK residents here.

3 weeks until the big day, anyone have any updates/news?

My brother in-law received this in an e-mail last week and forwarded it to me:

So we're still no closer to finding out who's going to broadcast over here! Only 17 days until the start of the new season as well....

It seems neither Sky or ESPN are willing to buy The NRL rights.

TBH I don't want ESPN to get it as it disgusts me having to pay another subscription fee!

It's better if they get it rather than nobody. I hope they get it as i've already got ESPN, Virgin give you ESPN for free if you get XL package. Who are you with Sky?

I plus all the games and watch them when i want without adverts, best show more than one a week though
