I can't warm to Gould because of his attitude to English R/L. If he was a true supporter of the game he would want to see it improve worldwide but to some throwback aussies the "English" are still the enemy with a capital E.
We all saw the Australian reaction to the last olympic games - could you imagine the screams if we beat them at RL
We all know how unlikely that is. Until we get a dynamic method of attracting and coaching kids to have a full skill set and understanding of the game, and then retaining them, we are lost.
There is some excellent work being done with kids in this country but no where near enough.
