The adverts do indeed pay for: hosting, domains, security certificates, licenses and insurance. We do also occasionally donate to worthy causes and sponsorships. Without the adverts, or an alternative of equal value, there would sadly be no RLFANS.COM. As we have struggled over the years and put our own money in to keep the site running, the option of no RLFANS.COM is something that we have considered.

If we were to offer a totally 'Ads free' site for a monthly subscription, is this something which would appeal to people? What would be a reasonable monthly charge for such a subscription?

Who cares about the adverts. It literally takes half a second to close the add down. It’s only absolute losers that would complain about a service they don’t pay for

It wasn’t “merged”. Rlfans gave it a life line.

Any chance we can get this site sorted? It’s becoming borderline unusable now and really can’t see it lasting much longer. I understand the need to have adverts, but I can’t see it being a requirement that they have to be all over the forum and as obstructive as possible? It’s counterintuitive. You’d get more revenue from ads by attracting more people to the site not driving them away

Not sure what’s happened lately but there seems to be some invisible ad that obstructs the majority of the page, as if I give the page time to load I physically can’t click into any threads. I’m forced to refresh the page and try to click into the thread as quickly as possible before whatever it is has chance to load.

There’s about 4 different ads constantly covering up half the screen. Spend more time closing ads than I do reading any threads

I use an AD blocker called umbra it removes all ads and you can the use the site easily. You may have to turn it off if you use betting sites but it’s no big deal.

I don't think RLFANS would welcome such post when it tries to generate money through Ads.
Keeping shtum would be wiser thing to do.

They will still get paid, people can choose what they want to see I have broken no rules so I won’t keep shtum as you say.

Use duck duck go browser. Have to sign in slightly more but no adds

I used the Duck Duck Go Browser and it seems ok.
