| Quote: Budgiezilla "This is from a Leigh fan who is good mates with assistant coach Paul Anderson....who told him the following info following Leigh's game @ Toronto in June.
1. The squad stayed in basic student accomodation quite a way of the the city and had no immediate training facilities. Unlike Toronto who were staying directly in the city.
2. There was a 3G pitch next to their accommodation that they could not use & had to get a coach for 40 minutes to a separate training facility that was resembled the rucks up Plank Lane, Leigh
3. In Toulouse & Catalan they were provided with 3 meals. I saw a picture of the sh** breakfast (one meal!) that their accommodation provided.
4. Following the match they were provided with flights back to the UK. Well, Glasgow to be precise & then a coach to Leigh.'"
Anything coming from the Leigh camp about Toronto should be taken with a pinch of salt given the continued very bitter attitude that club and its fans have had for Toronto since day one.

| Quote: Psychedelic Casual "It’s like he’s only just realised that Toronto is 3400 miles away.
It was their choice to come and play in this league(s). Why should the format be changed to suit one particular team? The format is the format, there are home and away games and in no other sport I can think of do one team get an advantage by playing chunks of games at home and chunks of games away to make it easier for them either financially or for player jet lag. If they can’t afford the flights over then they need to re-evaluate what they’re doing; if their players are bored of Duty Free then they need to re-evaluate what they’re doing.
NZ Warriors have to travel between 1400-2000 miles every other week and they don’t complain.
If you can’t stick to the format then stick it, create your own league.
(And I’m pro-expansion!)'"
Actually the NZ Warriors get regular consecutive home or away games. It’s not quite in blocks but there are 4 or 5 times in a season where they have either a home game followed by a home game or an away game followed by an away game.

So he is 'telling lies' then. I see, thanks for clearing it up.

Well one man's "budget student accommodation" is another man's "thanks for the free, clean, safe place to stay that cost me and my club nothing".
One man's "had to get a coach" is presumably another man's "free coach trip provided both ways to a training field".
One man's horrible breakfast is another man's "thanks for the free day out to Niagara Falls, we had a great time."
One man's "had to take a coach back from Glasgow" is another man's "we have to pay our own away travel anyway so not much difference really." How does Leigh get back from the Broncos, do they use the Tardis?
Is this the summary from the same Leigh coach Paul Anderson who was a colossal pain in the at the Summer Bash, as I recall, starting a fracas on the field at the end of the game against the Wolfpack? Did he say thank you so much for a nice free flight to Toronto and back? Thought not.
Did he also mention the away fans get a free night out on David Argyle's tab at a nice bar downtown? Thought not.
Consider the source, my man, consider the source.

| Quote: bramleyrhino "You just need to look at how they package the whole gameday experience. Take a look at their social media channels and see just how they build their home games into an event that people want to be at. Whether that's with the beer tents, the after-parties, the way they engage with venues around the city to create a buzz. It's all there. And that isn't just me looking at it through the lens of online - it's coming first hand from people who have been there.
As for the media profile, they have a weekly slot on one of the major sports talk radio stations and there has been more written about Toronto in the media than all of the Championship clubs, and most SL clubs combined. They're a positive story, and RL sorely needs positive stories right now. Tell me, how many RL clubs were the focus of rla column in The Guardian this weekrl? On Saturday, there will be three games back-to-back on Sky Sports. That wouldn't be happening without expansion clubs.
Seriously, what more do you want them "to bring"? If we were talking about a heartland club here, people would be waxing lyrical about how all clubs should be doing this. But because there's a body of water between them and their nearest club, they're a threat to certain clubs and so nothing that they achieve will ever be enough in the eyes of many on here.'"
So you’ve been have you and seen all this with your own eyes? No thought not.
That’s the problem with RL, full of fantasists who see what they want to see.

No, but I have. For two seasons. And he's bang on.
Just because you've never been to Australia, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

| Being brutally frank, what kind of accommodation etc do you think Toronto should offer when they're in the Championship? What they should offer (if anything) is minimal, and let visiting clubs decide if they are willing/able to upgrade. Sounds like a massive whinge to me.

Pathetic response, it would have been wiser to type 'nothing'. But not you, you can't 'keep it shut' can you ?

OH DEAR! A professional ignoranus....
I guess you're one of those types who thinks the moon is made of cheese and the earth really is flat....
I suggest you book a flight from wherever you reside to Toronto, Canada and perhaps experience it for yourself instead of listening to those nasty negative voices in your mind sir.

I lived in Australia for seven years so enough said on that stupid comment.
I’ve not been to Toronto but I do know one player very well who has. His Opinion is this. The accommodation was as he puts it ‘crap’ and he didn’t enjoy it but some did.
The facilities were ok but not exceptional and the crowds were decent but in his opinion not as high as stated.
However he did say it was hard to tell because most didn’t seem to be interested in actually watching the game.
He put it this way, it felt like they were the entertainment at a wedding or a side show in other words. Is that how you see the future of RL - is that the recipe for a successful club? I’m not convinced and never have been, Kings new cloth imho.

First of all laughing at your own lame humour is poor form.
Those ‘nasty’ voices are infinitely preferable to your unpteen different abberations.
I’m no ingnoramous where as I’ve travelled the world I doubt you’ve ever left Chorley or even your bedroom mummies boy.

Deep down you do, because if you didn't you wouldn't 'care' to comment on a subject you don't 'care' about 'love'.

It’s funny he should say that because if you went to a baseball game in Toronto this season you would find a similar thing. I was there last night and at times there was absolutely no crowd response when a home player got out - none. It’s more of a social occasion, even more so fir a Wolfpack game where most of the people have a very cursory grasp of the rules! There is also very little tradition of slating the ref, your own team, away fans or the away team which I always find odd. It can get noisy when something big happens but no real heritage of singing or just chanting because...it’s just different. But if they pays their money..,
