| Jesus. With the Lineham "try" and Peyroux's not being awarded, Saints have been well and truly shafted.

| Great play off game. yep, the obvious dodgy decisions did not help Saints but the best team on the night made the final.

You see the ball about an inch away from the line before the view is obscured, so unless the video ref thinks the ball just spontaneously combusted it's a f*cking try all day!

| annoying thing is, we could all see it was a try, thaler signals no try, fair enough he couldnt see it grounded, (yet somehow saw a similar effort from powell v hull the other week and sent it up for a try), to me there was enough evidence to award that try
saints can feel hard done to tonight, especially after linehams' 'try' but warrington were the better team tonight and over the season so cant begrudge them a trip to old trafford, hopefully if fc get there, they used up all their luck tonight!

Well you don't get a 3d view so there might be a finger underneath it but I agree it was highly likely to hit the line but the fact is no one sees it actually on the line. Under the old system of benefit of the doubt to attackers it's a try all day long but under this system of 'proving' it wasn't you've got to see it touch cleanly.

Your problem is , a finger isnt the width of the ball, one blade of grass on or behind the line touches one tiny bit of the ball and its a try.
Its not even a case of benefit of doubt, if that is sent up without the referees input there isnt even a question its given as a try.
The current system fails the very very basics because it is asking the VR to rule on the basis of something other than what he is seeing.

| This is getting ridiculous now. They need to either bin the ref decision for or allow the VR to exercise a degree of common sense.

| I was doubtful on Gidleys try too. Looked to be grounded short then bounced over the line but held up by Lomax.

Giving the VR the benefit of the doubt, he obviously can't be 100 per cent sure the ball has been grounded on the line, but at least 99 per cent. And that 1 per cent highlights the fundamental flaw in this system.
Whoever we all support all our teams have had the rub of the green with this system, and I thought it was a good idea initially, but after tonight it needs to be binned. There were mistakes made with the old system but at least they could make a call based on what they saw rather than having their hands tied by this "try" "no try" business.
