Yes I know, but it seems like a genuine reasonable discussion is impossible on these boards, I'd suggest more English clubs should be encouraged to look at French juniors |

Congratulations to the Huddersfield Giants club on posting a healthy 'afterthought' attendance in the region of a nicely-rounded 6,900 to be exact. The announcement of the attendance figure was such an 'afterthought' that it didn't even register on Sky's TV coverage. Lovely stuff indeed.
As SL attendances go, 6,900 is right up there in terms of polished cleanliness with several similarly polished attendance figures this season claimed by the Salford and Catalan clubs on their twitter and YouTube feeds, give or take a few nicely rounded 100's, 200's or 1000's added or shaved off here or there for maximum effect.

The fact after all these years catalans still can not find 20 decent SL standard players from that pool is a damning indictment on the quality of the French jnr systems and Catalans scouting and development program's for the elite of those jnrs.
In WA we only have around 300 jnrs playing RL in AFL land but still manage to develop players going on to play in NRL. It's as much about the system as the numbers.'"
France regularly beat England at junior level, the kids being produced are talented in the extreme but no one else seems to notice. It's not Catalans job to sign up every French junior under the sun. |
