| It was never a penalty to put Leeds 8-0 up - Hansen moved his knee by half an inch.
Wigan should have had a pen 30 yards out and JJB should have been off the pitch for his blatent attack to Leuluai's head. It was worse than McIlorum's or McGuire's. That should have been 2 more points to Wigan.
Also, Ryan Hall should have been sin binned for his professional foul on Goulding in the last min. SO Leeds should have been down to 11 men, either facing a penalty against Wigan or 6 tackles on their own line or potential DG and starting extra time with only 11 men for 9 mins.
They were all more controversial decision's even if you take Wigan's 6 points away for the 2nd try that was never a knock on from Lunt.

| It's a bit of a red herring to compare the current NFL situation with SL reffing as the real NFL refs are on strike over pay at the moment & the NFL is running on a replacement refs service. It's an unfair comparison.

He wasn't penalised for using his knee to knock the ball out, it was for "crowding" - taking up the Leeds players space in which to play the ball. It was correctly given as a penalty.
Leeds deservedly won the game and I would say the vast majority of crucial decisions went against Leeds.
Just for clarity, I am l Leeds-hating Wakey fan.

Stop talking sense, it'll never catch on.
Who gives a flying one what other sports do with their officiating, our sport has nothing to do with them, it is our sport that clearly has problems with consistancy and lack of clarity/openess & will not accept criticism even when justified.
The game isn't corrupt but the standard of officialdom from top to bottom is average at best and this is a part of why fans are getting pee'd off with the sport as a whole.

I'm stunned at your opinion of the JJB on Leuluai tackle, did you see it properly?

| I thought Carmont hit the ball with his arm which deflected into the face of Burrow. He didn't go in with an attempt to hit him with his knees delibrately. However heshould never be allowed to play profesional rugby league again...

Presumably then, given your very strong views on the subject, you've offered to help improve standards by applying for the RFL's referee training scheme?

So you don't agree with what I've said then that the officiating is inadequate?? Are you in fact saying for me to have a valid opinion that one must enroll in a refereeing course which then would give me the right to tell the RFL where they are going wrong? How silly of me, of course you're right.
There are a few reasons I can't go into refereeing, none of them actually any of your business but most importantly it would clash with my charity work for Age UK, not to mention I help kids improve their cycling skills and fix their bikes for free at the weekends when I'm not visiting the folks back up in Hull.
So do you do anything useful in so much as ensuring the hierachy are aware of their failings or are you just another gob$h1te with nothing particularly constructive to say in reply to a poster that you don't agree with???

Was a superb game of rugby league and it's a shame that there are always a group of fans who try to find as many faults as they can as opposed to applauding some great play.
Silverwood made some strange calls for both sides but no one side were harder done too than the other and either side would have deserved the win for the way they put their bodies on the line.

| If someone had told me that this thread was on here and asked me to guess who started it then I would have wagered my house, life savings, possessions and life on it being Saddo. You're getting too predictable. Shake it up a bit.

| How is Carmont going in with his knees different from Slater going in feet first to prevent a try. If Carmont had grabbed him with his arms only and kept his knees out of it , then there would be no argument. Do you think Burrow would have dropped the ball if Carmonts was not there ? It should have been a penalty at the very least and most probably a penalty try.

| An average game by two teams who were average on the night and the result decided by the referee. Terrible!
The score kept it exciting but the quality of rugby was very poor and the match officials were dreadful.
No wonder fans are not buying into the play offs!
