Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?
Fletcher: No, Bradford.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40413.jpg |

| That old bird that lives in the big house in London has been to the cup final a time or two. The one that had her face on pound notes and that. Married to that Greek bloke called Phil.

| This is nothing new.
People from 'outside' the game have probably admired it for some time.
It's just with the introduction of social media, like twitter, we get to find out about now whereas before we didn't.

| Joey Barton defied the stereotype of the overpaid, under-educated footballer on 5 Live on Saturday, speaking quite intelligently about several subjects. On RL, he said something like, "There's a beauty and a simplicity about RL; it's the last true sport of the working man." Then he buggered off out the studio to get to the GF on time.
George Riley used to try manfully to jemmy RL into the Gaby Logan programme on the same station, but she would always spoil it with some derisory comment about flat caps and whippets and such; it used to make me so angry, I'd have to go out to the pigeon loft to calm down.

Also a few cricketers who have bigged up the sport - Ryan Sidebottom bigged up the 9's Tournament'"
Giggs dad played for Salford IIRC?
League as we all know is greatly appreciated by those that watchbit and it's great to see pro's in other sports praising our game! A problem we'll always have is the southern based media not giving us the exposure the game really deserves but as mentioned outlets like twitter could be great for this! If you have people like Rooney & Rio Ferdinand with over 1 million followers (a lot will be young lads who can't afford to go and watch Premiership footy) reading their hero's tweet about watching the RL... That can only be a great thing!

| What would be ideal is if there were free online video content that these celebs could link to in order to get people interested in the game.

I know the lead singer can seem a bit of a prat at times but that's a bit harsh!

It was Swinton, possibly played a season or two at Salford but unsure. Giggs also played under the name of Wilson for England Schoolboys.
His dad, Danny?, was a brilliant RL stand off with a couple of screws loose.

He never sullied our great club, take that back!! And he's quite a few more than a couple of screws loose too!
Gary Keedy, THE greatest spinner in county cricket, is a huge Leeds fan and was definitely at the grand final and I think he may be a season ticket holder too. Another Lancs cricketer, Karl Brown (from Atherton) was there too.

Not sure about this one! They are from Leicester and are big fans of Leicester city fans. You get them turning up to the snooker too in support of Mark Selby. But hopefully you're right and they do like a bit of league as well!

rlProbably comes from posing with a Wire flag at V Festival.rl
As with many celeb 'fans', that doesn't necessarily mean they follow Warrington at all - but no publicity is bad publicity.
