Unfortunately in this era it's not all down to on-field performance. Shame.

Seemed accurate to me, and they made plenty of enthusiastic noise. If Crusaders can grow their crowds by a few percent a year they're on the right track.
Quote: headhunter "No it wasn't. Just over 100.'"
True story: I started counting them at one point and got to about 40 before getting bored, even during such a dull second half. I was almost half way through so just over 100 sounds right to me.

They're not on the right track by any means, the administration of the club is still very poor and I feel they won't really progress on the field while Iestyn Harris is the coach. However, credit to the local fans who are extremely enthusiastic and have taken really well to RL.

| If from last nights crowd 2000 are crusaders fans then the most important thing to realise is that they are NEW fans. It is an example of how to go on. most of our traditional clubs would love to find 2000 new fans. most are way down on what we had in our best times.

So thats a "sorry i'm wrong again" then is it.

At least 2500 hardcore Crusaders fans - the most enthusiastic, loyal fans any team could wish for and on the back of a very poor season. Always sing and cheer the team to the end whatever the result or performance. The desire and passion for rugby league to be a success in these parts is fantastic to witness.
Next season, with new signings and hopefully a winning team, and the rapid development of the game at grass roots in South and North Wales, the potential for growth is enormous.
Proud to be a Crusaders supporter.

| The amount of people in the crowd isnt really the only part of the application process is it?
Either way as long as they are both given the same chance of a licence then thats ok with me

| The embrassing thing about this is amount of threads by wakefield fans who blame anyone and everyone apart from Wakefield Trinity who have failed to deliver on promises set out 3 years ago. They were lucky not be ditched then.

Whilst I don’t disagree with your sentiments, there is one huge flaw.
How on earth can any club in Super Dooper League club survive on such low crowds?
Surely, to break even, a club would have to pull in around 7K to balance the books each season.
Who pray tell is going to pick up the tab? The London project must have the most benevolent Sugar Daddy in the game, fair play to him, however, for all the undoubted passion of a couple of thousand ‘new’ fans, where will the Crusaders find the shortfall?

| Quote: PHIPPS "It's been said many times. 'Clubs' like Quins and Crusaders are only in SL because the powers that be are hell bent on expanding the game outside of the traditional RL playing area.
Sadly their crowds could total 5 and the RFL wouldn't worry.

How many times does it have to be stated that the RFL have NEVER contributed cash to the Lonodn club, from the earliest days of Fulham right up to today. And how many times do we have to point out that their crowds, although undoubtedly poor, are not so far behind those of so-called 'heartland' clubs like Salford ( even today ) and Huddersfield a few years ago ( before the Giants became a force ).
I assume you think that Salford are a 'farcical club who shouldnt be allowed to be in SL' ?

I'm pretty sure I remember London Broncos being awarded a tidy sum of around £1million by the RFL when they played at Brentford, in order to stave off liquidation? Weren't the other clubs asked to waive some of their SKY money to help bail out the club?
If I'm wrong, then apologies.

Didn't London Broncos get a big handout from the RFL?
Or did that never happen either?
