| Pound for pound, Luke Robinson would take some beating for any fitness test thrown at him. Super trainer.

| If you are going to crown someone fittest you need to include a range of things not just 100m
I would for example beat any Rugby League player by a mile at any distance over a mile and up to a marathon , I am a county standard runner BUT they would beat mean over 100 and at dips etc
A fitness test needs to include a sprint, a long distance race, some strength work etc
I think Superstars did have an 800m or 1500m by memory but its not long enough as a fitness test

Its a rumour that David Beckham actually completed the bleep test - don't know if thats true or if anyone else has ever done that. I know he's the ultmate soccer pansy but the Milan coach thinks he's in such good physcial condition that he could carry on playing top flight footie until he's 40.
In power and strength obviously rugby is going to score high but any endurance type events are probably not going to see any special results.
For a comparison of bleep test scores: www.topendsports.com/testing/beep-scores.htm or www.brianmac.co.uk/beep.htm

| Lately Jon Wilkin is non-stop.
Tackles everything that moves. Backs up. Scores Tries. Kicks 40/20s. A true 80-minute player.

I knew that I was pretty fit back in my playing days... didn't realise just how fit till reading those...
That said, I'm a wreck now, knees are shot, everything else is not far behind... actually a lot of people I know from my playing days are pretty shot now! Who says sport is good for you lol

Wilkin's one of the first names down on my teamsheet.
At times he's the most influential player on the pitch. And that's whilst making 35+ tackles per game, scoring tries, kicking to touch etc.

| Slater's not the fittest man in RL he was a player chosen to represent RL in the TV show and competed against other sportsmen from other sports. There would probably be NRL players who could beat him.
Not sure who the fittest player in the NRL is these days, when Mark McLinden played league he would have been a good shout.
Would be interesting to see if its actually the forwards who dominated fitness challenges. They would be able to win strength tests but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the 80 minute brigade (Peacock, Hindmarsh) were aerobically fitter than the outside backs as well.

| Paul Rowley had tireless energy when he played for Fax, remember the SL poster he starred in?
Steele Retchless is another who springs to mind from years gone by.
In modern day players I think Nathan Hindmarsh is at the top.
