I was laughed at when I said Catalans will be nowhere near the relegation battle and they will finish in the top 8. When I suggested Steve McNamara could be coach of the year some said I should be banned for trolling, where are those so called RL mostly Leigh fans now?

Funny thing as well is that he seems like a descent bloke, very approachable and the opposite to some of the 'win at all costs' type. So I really can't fathom why some people have been overly harsh on him.

Do agree he comes across a decent guy. I always thought he just didn't have the right personality to be a coach at the top level.

Still though Trent Robinson speaks very highly of him and have no doubts Catalan asked him to give an honest opinion about McNamara before offering the job.

All the England players who worked under him speak highly also whenever they talk about his ability.

McNamara did a great job as England coach. Just look at the results he produced compared to the results in the years before he took over.

McNamara was scapegoated for Bradford’s demise, when in fact their financial problems had absolutely nothing to do with him, much like the global financial crisis is blamed on immigration or the Labour Party when it has nothing to do with those groups.

I have been McNamaras biggest critic but he has this Catalan team playing well.

I think he learned his trade a lot more from his spell at the Roosters. A higher calibre level than SL.

He would have learned a lot from Trent Robinson.

I watched Cats at Hudds a couple of months ago followed by them at Leeds. Possibly the 2 worst games I have ever seen. They are just not recognisable from those teams.

No problem holding my hands up and saying I was dead wrong. Mcnamara has done an amazing job.
