But because he's under 21 we can claim him has home grown. I think.
The rules are a little sketchy tbh

Depends how long he's been at your club.
As I understand it to qualify as home-grown a player needs to spend 3 years at a club whilst under the age of 21.
However even if he didn't as he's British it doesn't really matter since he'd be classed as Federation Trained instead of home-grown anyway. It's only really the Overseas trained quota that matters.

| As Tad pointed out Leeds are beginning a transition with the likes of Diskin and Donald going so the next 2/3 years will be interesting.
1. Webb (Overseas but doesn't count on quota)
2. Smith (Home Grown)
3. Delaney (Overseas)
4. Senior (Federation trained)
5. Hall (Home Grown)
6. McGuire (Home Grown)
7. Burrow (Home Grown)
8. Leuluai (Overseas but doesn't count on quota)
9. Buderus (Overseas)
10. Peacock (Federation)
11. JJB (Home Grown)
12. Lauitiiti (Overseas but doesn't count on quota)
13. Sinfield (Home Grown)
14. Bailey (Home Grown)
15. Cross (Overseas)
16. Ablett (Home Grown)
17. Burgess (Home Grown)
Plus Ambler (Home Grown/Federation), Amor (Federation), Kirke (Federation), McShane (Home Grown), Clarkson (Home Grown), Bush (Home Grown), Jones-Bishop (Home Grown), Watkins (Home Grown), Coady (Federation), Pitts (Federation), Hardaker (Federation).
I think there's only likely to be 1 more signing for 2011, hopefully a big second rower/prop as we'll be a bit weak there without Peacock to start with.
A couple too many overseas players for my liking in that squad but over the next 2/3 years a few will go and be replaced by British players hopefully. Jones-Bishop for Webb, Hardaker/Watkins for Delaney, Ambler/Amor/Pitts for Cross and Leuluai. Plus Lauitiiti and Buderus will be going as well. Hopefully a reduction down to around 4 overseas players would be preferable.

we he came to us at 17, so he WILL be classed as homegrown eventually.

ODonnell O
Crabtree
Lawrence

i would say we are 2 players short of a very good 17.
Also from the players you have. Lawrence to start instead of Mcgiilivary. Darrell Griffin to start instead of Patrick and Patrick to the bench with Mcgilivary missing out.

Also missing from list is Faiumu taking our overseas quota to at least 3

It'll be criminal if McGilvray isn't given a proper chance this season by Nathan Brown. He's got 'future international' written all over him. Lawrence is a decent player, but if we're talking wing positions I'd take McGilvray over him any day of the week.

Agree about Mcgilivary, I just dont see what everyone else does, hope he does come good though. Raleigh for Horne. Really happy with the squad, but i'd be happier with an established full back.

Maybe you're just fishing? But seriously, how do you come to that conclusion? Granted not all of them are world beaters, but they're better than many clubs imports....
Webster - International, GF winner, Tri-nations winner
Clinton - International, GF winner
Vella - SOO, International, Grand finalist
Dobson - AG medal winner, Dream Team last 2 seasons
Mason - SOO, International, GF winner, Clive Churchill winner
Newton - GF winner, Dream Team 2009
Galea - City Origin, GF winner, dreamteam 2009
Lovegrove - Probably our best prop last year despite not having a glittering CV
Fisher - Served us well, been with us since 2006 (apparently he's Scottish too )
Green - The jury is out on him until we've seen how he gets on over here imo.
Most of them aren't exactly what you'd call crap, are they?
