True, although if they win it this year, as long as they don't crash and burn in the next two years then they'll have ticked the on-field standards box. It was to stop the mentality of "we've done well one year in semi-pro, let's have a crack at the big time even though we're completely unready", that franchises were introduced.
What they need to focus on is developing their youth, getting the finance right and building a fanbase. They should see this as having ticked one box and start building for the future knowing they;ve a head start over other NL1 clubs. Good luck to them. They provided me with one of my most painful RL memories, and I don't hold it against them. It would be good to see them back in the big time in 2011.
