I would prefer to see Trent Robinson, Wayne Bennett or Craig Bellamy. But given the impossibility of those preferences, I will take Steven McNamara if the team can keep winning.

This run is amazing. I will say that. However, the style of play over the year he has been in charge has been in the main turgid.

We might still stay up but I just feel that we might still be fragile in confidence and a beating at Wire tonight might expose those weaknesses.

Against all the odds and the opinion of the experts on here, McNamara has turned Catalan from a laughing stock into a side that is very difficult to beat.
Lead by Casty and Bird (who seems to be playing rugby rather than being just a grub), Catalan look certain to finish in the top 8 and even if they do finish in the bottom 4, there is little chance of relegation.
I think that you are being a little disingenuous towards the coach who, assuming you do survive in SL, will look to play a different game in future.
Surely, this season is all about SL survival ?
A side that was so poor and so low on confidence cant suddenly play champagne rugby, they have, first of all, to stop losing games.

This upcoming game is very important. Even if Catalans lose to a powerful Warrington team, it is important that Catalans at least play well. That will show that they have built up their confidence.

Next year, when Samuel Tomkins joins the team, we may see some champagne rugby league. I am assuming that Tomkins will play in the halves alongside Drinkwater, while Antoine Gigot and David Mead will still be in the backline, and Remi Casty, Gregory Bird, Michael McIlorum and Julien Bousquet will still be in the forwards. That would make up the core of a team that can play champagne rugby league.

As an aside, I hope that Fouad Yaha does not defect to rugby union. He is a great attacking winger, and it is important for the team to have three quality wingers -- Jody Broughton, Lewis Tierney and Fouad Yaha -- in case of injury.

This Catalans team showed tonight that it deserves to be not just in the top 8 -- which it will be -- but in the top 4. They were even with the much fancied Warrington.

Does that make Huddersfield top 3 then, who were better than the more fancied Wigan?
