The east stand has already been extended at the north end (left on pic) and is about to be extended to the south end ready for start of 2011 season, so it runs full length of pitch. New north stand for 2012 and the temporary stand currently at the north end to be moved to the south end.

Cheers mate. Sounds really good, hope we draw you in the cup once it's done! (mind you, don't think we'd beat you 24-0 this time!)

So, once built, will away fans still generally be directed to a new North Stand, or will they end up in a new Gene Kelly stand at the south end?

The North Stand will be corporate and home, I believe

Well I did hear at one point that when they move the North Stand to the South, they will be getting a roof over it as well (a bit like a smaller version of the temp stand at Quins). Also heard they'd be getting red seats this time as well. No idea if any of this is true like, but it would kind of make sense to do this! Can't imagine it would cost too much more money to do that on top of move the stand.

I don't think it's set in stone that the new north stand will hold only home supporters. I guess the club will see how it goes with regards uptake of passes and ticket demand leading up to it's completion as I would guess the majority of current north stand passholders will move to the east stand once that is extended.
Regarding the temp stand; putting a roof on it would massively improve it's functionality and it's appeal. I do think clubs have a responsibility to at least provide away fans with a covered terrace, so a 1200 capacity covered seated stand would be a lot better than what a number of other SL clubs offer at the moment.

| I don't know if this is true but it has been suggested to me that a retractable roof may be fitted so that it can be opened if it rains on derby matches

| Don't think away fans can grumble if put in a temporary stand at the South end as long as it's nearer to the pitch than the existing terrace and if it ends up with a roof on it, though I'm sceptical as to how HKR would currently fill an extended East Stand [iand[/i a new North Stand.

Why didn't we think of that! Saying that no-one brings any fans other than Widnes. At least it would give them a wash eh?
