I work out and when I've had injuries and had to stop like when I hurt my back, it took about 2/3 months to lose some muscle and my BFP went up by about 5/7% during that time, but I'm not a regular drinker. Like you say if you've been doing it for a long time like Taylor has, if he applies himself he could get back in shape in a couple of months, like he did at Canberra. He wasn't as big when he went there though.
Saying all that hasn't he just done at least part of Toronto's Pre season just a couple of months ago? Wonder if he turned up looking like that and didn't bother.
Looking at him, he's not put weight on his face and got a big beer belly, speaks volumes what he's been up to imo.
Canberra got him probably in the best shape he's been in a few years but it didn't take long for him to absolutely pile it on.

Indeed. A guy of Taylors size training hard every day will eat a mountain of food. If you stop training but dont cut the calories you will pile weight on very quickly. The weight wouldnt be a big concern for me if I was looking at signing him. Its only a spare tyre. Its his other problems that I would be more concerned about.

Yep he's probably one of the best players in the world, unfortunately for him there's about a couple of hundred who are better.

Nah I certainly couldn't think of anyone either currently playing the game or even in years gone by that could lace his boots
You certainly know your stuff and IMO he should be inducted as the next immortal
What do you think?

Are you judging his body shape on your own to come to that conclusion, or is it your wife trying to make you feel good?

This. The dude must have been on some wind-up. Even as a self-confessed fan of his in his early days at the Broncos the Souths & to a lesser extent the Gold coast because the cracks were starting to appear there. I even then thought a change and a new League could see the making of him & was actually excited to see him in SL. But apart from the odd great performance that first year at Catalans how wrong was I. Like I said before personally the lifeline Canberra gave him and he seemed to get in a good place and shape for a bit, it was his last chance at the big time in the NRL imo.

| Rumour i've heard is he wil replace Tom Symonds at Huddersfield, they are discussing a settlement deal due to Symonds' constant injury problems.

Wouldn`t be a bad move for Hudds to be fair, the culture/team spirit at the club with Broughy around surely cannot get much worse and they wont miss Symonds as he is never on the field anyway.

| Taylor has the quality and potential to rip up Super League, but has repeatedly shown he doesn’t have the right attitude or professionalism. He’s certainly a big risk, if anyone does sign him I’d expect it to be a short term deal.

| Taylor hasn't shown the ability to 'rip up' any competition for years. He was incredibly dynamic for such a big guy when he first started, but even then couldn't play more than about 10 minutes at a time, and he simply hasn't adjusted the way he tries to play to match the inevitable decline in athleticism. He's one of those players whose highlights reel makes coaches think he's worth the risk, when in fact he's been a fairly useless pudding for much of his career.

| Bit like Tony Williams.
Both big puddings. Surely Hudders can't be interested in signing this waster?
